Overview & Reviews
The CD-equipped audio system with four speakers is now standard equipment, and the fuel consumption gauge's illumination color changes from green to red. All Honda cars gain a new seatbelt reminder system this year.
- Amazing fuel economy, quick steering, lots of standard equipment.
- Batteries drain fast under continual electric motor assist, highly susceptible to crosswinds, not much point-and-shoot power on tap, small payload capacity.

yes - I get 57 mpg and I love it! - 2004 Honda Insight
By Bluegrazz - April 4 - 3:00 amI have owned this car for almost three years and buying it was probably the best decision Ive ever made. It is reliable, inexpensive and easy to maintain. But you have to have a sense of humor to drive it! Ive found that driving does have other rewards, however. The police only warn me when I am stopped for speeding because they are surprised that a hybrid is so speedy. And I never have to wait long at busy intersections because people are extraordinarily courteous and curious when you drive a hybrid.

Sporty, economical Love Machine - 2004 Honda Insight
By Kilroyrogers - March 10 - 2:00 amSo Im on Sunset racing a Ferrari F40 and weaving in and out of rally cars last summer, and heads were turning and watching the 5 speed kick it, and I realized I had a sporty, head turning ride for relative peanuts. When I later saw said Ferrari with its hood up and smoke pouring out at the staion at PCH and Sunset, I realized I really do have the best of both worlds, minus the headaches.

Coast to Coast - 2004 Honda Insight
By harbold - February 16 - 2:00 amI have driven my Insite two times from California to the East Coast and return. One troble is keeping it down to the speed limit. When I look down we frequently are driving much to fast. One the desert I have had it over a hundered. Driving freeway 8 to Alpine from San Diego the trafic moves above eighty-five. The grade is steep and in the honda I keep having to slow down. The other car we use is a corvett on the 0 to eighty will lay you back in the seat which the honda wont. However the honda coners as well as it does. It is flat on corners and takes them as well as the corvett.

Well satisfied - 2004 Honda Insight
By KatMcCulloch - February 4 - 2:00 amI love my car. I drive the L.A. freeways daily, at 65 to 80 MPH [when the traffic will allow] so I get about 50 MPG. I combed the web for info and I got what I expected. I have had a 52 Chevy, 65 VW Bug, Toyota Corolla, and Honda Civic. This is the only car that makes me smile when I see it and drive it. Thanks Honda.

Insight is Excellent - 2004 Honda Insight
By ainternetguy - January 31 - 2:00 amThis car is awsome. It gets fantastic mileage as well as excellent performance.. one would never guess its a 3 cylinder, 1000CC powerplant. You can figure on getting gas mileage that is in many cases double what a large displacement motorcycle (Harley, Honda, BMW) is getting. That plus A/C, stereo system and power everything make this a vehicle that can be driven in any weather. And finally, theres the tax deduction that the Federal govt. will allow you for the purchase of this car.... whats not to like?

Good Car - 2004 Honda Insight
By Cory Gude - January 31 - 2:00 amLiving in the Denver, CO area gas prices arent that cheap. I own two sports cars and needed a everyday driver for my long drives to work. I got talked into the Civic hybrid and I love it death. It doesnt have a whole lot of power, especially for somebody like me who is in to horsepower and torque like in my Acura Integra Type-R and Honda Prelude Type- SH. But those sports cars are gas gugglers and for my daily driver I enjoy the 50 miles to the gallon that I get out of my Civic Hybrid. A very good car!

Insight T - 2004 Honda Insight
By dwightp - January 31 - 2:00 amAt freeway speeds and distances of over 500 miles I average over 70mpg. Shorter distances and lower speeds I average about 55mph. The seats are a little thin so raide could be better.

Honda Insight - A Drivers Car - 2004 Honda Insight
By Lawson - December 27 - 2:00 amWhen I first purchased the Honda Insight, it was for the uniqueness of the hybrid drive system combined with the uncompromised design. After driving the car I was astounded at how well it handled, and how fun it was to drive. One of my other cars is a Lotus and I consider the Insights handling to be on par with it. With all the sophisticated instrumentation, a driver is aware at any moment just how efficiently they are driving. That makes driving a lot more fun.
