This Year's Model Updates:

The Honda Element has been updated significantly for 2007. It's a littler quicker this year thanks to a 10-horsepower increase and a new five-speed automatic transmission that replaces the previous four-speed. It should be safer, too, thanks to new safety equipment, including standard stability control and side curtain airbags. Previous Elements had door-mounted front seatbelts that made exiting the rear seat a bit of a pain; that's been fixed this year with integrated front seatbelts. There's also a new design for the instrument panel. Finally, Honda has come out with a new Element SC trim level that has a lowered ride height and a few unique exterior and interior styling details.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, optional all-wheel drive, smooth four-cylinder engine, balanced handling.
Cons:
  • Only seats four, clamshell doors hinder entry/exit for rear-seat passengers.

  • Great car except for the mileage - 2007 Honda Element

We recently purchased our Element and have found it to be extremely useful. The interior is more spacious than you could imagine for such a small vehicle. It is very well designed. The only drawback so far is that we are getting about 18 MPG mixed City/HWY MPG. To claim 21/26 is a bold statement. Great little milk truck though.

I have really enjoyed this vehicle. Its fun to drive and I am averaging just under 21 mpg mostly city about 25 highway. Cargo space is great, smooth ride. Definitely recommend changing the tires to something more SUV style. I put BFG Long Trail and rides and handles much better. Truly recommend this vehicle to all.

  • Better than expected :-) - 2007 Honda Element

Ive been a long time loyal Honda owner since I was 16. (Now 34 and 6 new Hondas later...) Initially I was a bit skeptical about buying this car. After months and months of research, asking questions, test drives I bit the bullet and bought one on 1/8/07. Ive had it for almost 4 months and 3800 miles later, I must say this SUV exceeded my initial expectations! Ive driven in several bad snow/ice storms and this SUV just keeps goin while the other cars and trucks are stranded on the side. (The real-time all wheel drive works wonders!) To make a long story short, if youre considering an Element, go out there and drive it, youll definitely be impressed!!!

Just got my Element last week after going in to drive the CR-V. While the CRV is nicer and more refined than previous years, there is just no room for my toys and gear. The Element started to be more attractive from a pure cost of ownership standpoint, as I was looking at leasing a more expensive vehicle originally, but I could purchase the Element for the roughly the same monthly payment. I drove both the SC and standard model, and love the handling of the SC and the unique interior trim points. Ill miss 4WD, but love the wider tires and improved headlight/front end look. I drove it in snow/ice 2 days after purchasing, and although I was a bit tense without 4WD there, it was good.

The suspension is a little stiff but I got used to it. Havent enjoyed driving a vehicle this much since my VW van in the early 70s.

  • Element is an Excellent Family Car - 2007 Honda Element

Excellent interior features. Great leg room for children. XM Radio is a huge upgrade over basic auto radio. This a great choice for familys with 2 small children. Functional with personality. A better city car than FJ Cruiser. Visibility takes getting used to. Definitely needs upgrades like fog lights and roof rack to complete the package.

I test drove it, I bought it. Drove it home the same day. I traded in a Nissan 4x4 and wanted something different and looked cool on the road. Meets my expectations. The reviews posted here, are accurate. Good value for the $$ and I would expect Honda reliability.

  • Element #3 - 2007 Honda Element

We bought an 03 Element EX when they first came out and loved it so much so, we upgraded to a Rally Red 05 EX (w/side curtain airbags) in March of 2005. In Sept 06, my wife and two young children (1 & 3 year olds) were involved in a head on collision at 50 mph with an inattentive Ford F150. All three walked away from the accident with only minor bruises and burns (from the airbag). There was no doubt we would buy another. We decided on a silver SC and we ABSOLUTELY love the new styling inside and out. Great car for the kids, dog & all of your stuff. I would highly recommend this vehicle.

we just brought the new car home and we like it already. the only thing i am worried about is whether my wife is going to like the free XM and when the trial period is over we will be getting a subsrciption. Lots of room, rides pretty nice and handles well. this auto has all safety features on the market with this version and coded keys and theft prevention radio. buy your accessories at manchester honda in CT. they offer close to 25% discount. we ordered deflector, mats, arm rest, and other stuff alot cheaper than from dealer.
