This Year's Model Updates:

Changes for the 2008 Honda CR-V are restricted to the EX-L trim level, which gains an eight-way power driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control and the premium sound system that could previously only be had with the optional navigation system.

Pros:
  • Thoughtful interior design, high-quality interior materials, versatile cargo hold, quiet and comfortable ride, high crash test scores, agile handling.
Cons:
  • Engine and transmission can be overwhelmed by hilly stretches of highway.

  • 10 Day Review - 2008 Honda CR-V

After tooling around in our new CR-V for 10 days, we are continually impressed by this vehicle. Its got a peppy engine, great handling, cool styling, and all the bells and whistles we could ask for. The only extra we needed was a roof rack, because this baby comes fully loaded, standard. It climbs well in the foothills (havent taken it for a spin further up yet) and accelerates smoothly on the highway.

  • Great SUV - 2008 Honda CR-V

This is a great SUV. Test drove many, Rogue (no nav), RAV4 (no nav), CX9 (very pricey), CX7 (too harsh), very close to buying the Ford Explorer Limited (great deals), but came down to a couple items Feature for price point, MPG, Roll Over Safety Rating, Resale, space based on overall size. This is a wonderful well built SUV. Our 1st honda ever, and love it. The ride is firm but supple, the leather seats are beautiful and extremely comfortable, worth the upgrade. The stereo is outstanding, the rear seats are very comfy and plenty of space, too many features to list. Drive it, youll buy it.

  • Who Could Complain? - 2008 Honda CR-V

I bought a 2008 CR-V to replace an aging (and thirsty) 2001 Ford Escape with a V6. My wife is the anti-Christ when it comes to car buying and shopping, and with this vehicle and a great dealer, she left after buying by saying "WOW!". While others have complained about the seats, we find them comfortable and the ride much nicer than that of any other SUV we tried. Many other SUVs were too "truck" like, and here in Seattle with small streets and cramped parking lots, the CR-V is a brilliant performer due to the size and visibility. I am loving this rig, and I have no complaints!

  • Nice! - 2008 Honda CR-V

I had 22 wonderful years with my 1986 Ford Bronco II, so I knew I wanted to stay with a small SUV, but I wanted a 4- door this time. I looked at the Toyota Rav4, but decided on the CR-V. I was a little worried about getting a 4cyl, but I have no trouble passing. It handles really well and has a quiet, smooth ride. It has nice smooth brakes. Good gas mileage, I get 22-24 mpg. I hope I have my CR-V for 22 years!

  • Great Value CR V EX-L - 2008 Honda CR-V

Searched and test drove many small SUVs, Acura RDX, Toyota RAV, Subaru Outback and Ford Edge. Honda as always provides the best overall value for the money. Yes, it is not a powerhouse but it does have enough power for most situations. The benefit is good gas mileage and the power issue is only evident in some situations. The fact is that if you know the car you can easily manipulate the power to suit your needs in those situations with the gas pedal. Hill climbing is impressive and the grade- logic design does eliminate gear hunting so I think the Edmund reviewer was a little harsh with the comment in their review. Car is put together well and quality material is used everywhere.

  • Keeps getting better! - 2008 Honda CR-V

Just returned from first trip with 08 CR-V. Mostly highway over 1,000 mile round trip Aver MPG 28.2, great ride and confident handling. This is our 3rd CR-V and they keep getting better. Drove all the major competitors and this is the best compact SUV by far.

Went from a 2000 civic to cr-v for room for baby. Back up camera works well along with nav. Excellent ride, comfortable with good pick-up.

  • Love this SUV! - 2008 Honda CR-V

After researching a small SUV for three months, I finally decided on the Honda CR-V-EX-L. I finalized the purchase today and am extremely pleased with it so far. I also test drove a Toyota RAV-4, which was my first choice. Ive owned two camrys in the past and have always been pleased with Toyotas quality. However, I prefer the sleek, clean design of the CR-Vs exterior. This is my first experience with a Honda and I am very pleased with my selection.

  • Third New Honda is a Charm! - 2008 Honda CR-V
    By -

This is my third new Honda in the last 15 years and i would recommend them all. This is my first SUV, I looked at Toyota, Saturn, Mazda but Honda wins in almost every category. If you are looking for more space for a growing family but dont want to sacrifice EPA this is a Great vehicle! Mileage after 7000 miles is 25 mpg in mixed driving.

  • Love It - 2008 Honda CR-V

I did some major research before purchasing my CR-V. Picked up my new baby last week in time for a weekend trip. I love it. I think my husband is having more fun driving it than me. Pretty peppy on the interstate. Still figuring out the navigation system. Lots of compliments on its good looks. Would do it all over again.
