This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Not worth the hype - 2005 Honda Accord

I purchased my Honda Accord because I know Honda has a good name, but I am disappointed with the overall performance. Perhaps I should have gotten a V6, because you have to "gun" the car to get it to go and the tachometer is well over 2,000 rpms even at lower speeds, like 50 mph. The Camry is probably a better choice, provides a much smoother ride and better acceleration.

  • Accordingly boring! - 2005 Honda Accord

Bought an 05 EX Sedan 4-cylinder w/ auto. Purchased based on reviews this is a "sporty family sedan". Its not. I had buyers remorse a week after purchase. Nothing makes me want to drive this car...nothing! Its so boring to drive I need to check my pulse to make sure Im not sleeping. IMO, this is a two-faced car: Extremely reliable, economical to own, attrative to look at. Yet, its boring to drive, too large, poor driving qualities, horrible brakes, twitchy steering with placid handling, poor paint quality. Appearance doesnt match the drive. This car has no personality. If driving point A to point B is all that matters...buy an Accord. 08 isnt much better, just bigger!

  • Seats hurt our backs! - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I am selling this car because the fuel economy is lower than I was led to believe and the seats are extremely uncomfortable for both me and my husband. I have had to get a seat cushion from the Better Back Store just to be able to drive this car, and I still have trouble with it. Ive never had a car as uncomfortable as this one. I only get 26 mpg in the winter in Colorado and 31 mpg in the summer. I do like the handling and power this car affords, though.

road noise level to high. suspension does not absorb road variations. Noisey over small bumps and seams in the road. Can not even crack the windows open in the rain without getting water all over the door panel and yourself

  • Who can say hondas are refined? - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased a new ’05 accord coupe lx in June 2005, and I expect this will be my last Honda. I have been quite disappointed with a car that has received such high regards from various auto critics. I am currently driving this lx with a blown stereo speaker and a vibrating engine that makes long drives utterly dreadful. The car would actually be decent transportation if something could be done about the refinement of the engine and mediocre stereo.

  • What a LetDown - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I traded my fifteen year old Acura for the Accord, (because I could not afford a new Acura). What a letdown! My old Acura still rides smoother, accelerates better, and even looks better than my new Accord. Not that the Accord is a piece of junk, but compared to the Acura, fuggetabout it! The noise level is terrible inside. Rain sounds like someone dropping marbles on sheet metal. Other cars stereos penetrate so loud that I keep checking to see if I fully rolled up the windows. I see on the nameplate that the car is made in Mexico. I wish Honda made it in Japan. I think Honda would not get the reputation it enjoys today if the original cars were made like this one.

  • Honda Quality and Custorme Care - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Purchased an 05 Accord EX w/Leather in 10/04 from Performance Honda in Fairfield OH. By 11/04 the windshield began making noises. Tried twice to get this fixed and failed both times. Called Honda Care to complain about the car (not the dealer). With Honda Care involvement, the service manager decided to make it personal and the situation got ugly. Honda walked away from their responsibility and I lost a dealer I had been using for 15 years. Windshield still makes noises and the problem is spreading throughout the interior. The rear window, passenger side molding, drivers door window, etc., etc., all pop, creak and snap. All-in-all a most frustrating and unpleasant experience.

  • bad mileage very bad mileage - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

extremely bad mileage...17 miles per gallon...complained to the dealer...they said that it is normal because of the v6 and that the sticker info when you buy a new car (and that advertized the car for 27in the city and 35 on highways) is not established by Honda but by an independent company...so honda has no responsibility...Nice pick-up though, fun to drive but a killer for gaz. Also after a year the leather is already wearing off...it is too thin and dries- up and wrinkle very easily...so my friends...beware and ask the dealer more than a few questions....my feel is that there are going to be a lot of these on the used market very soon..so if you want a v6..get it used!!

the transmissions on theses cars have been recalled for defects, i am on my third in two years, they seem to last about 20000 miles. save yourself the hassles and get something else.
