  • Poor Gas Mileage - 2011 GMC Terrain

This base Terrain with a 4 cylinder and no options is rated at 32MPG highway but actually gets 25 highway in ECO mode, which inhibts performance. Its worse otherwise. Driven on mostly level roads in Florida, I dont understand. The dealer in Marianna, FL was notified but didnt even bother to schedule a service visit.

  • It is ok. - 2011 GMC Terrain

We have had the V6 for 6 months and it is a good buy. This replaced a 2000 Buick LeSabre and though they are different types of cars I did expect a little better gas mailage. The best on the road so far has been 22 MPG. The old land creuser got that in town. So I dont think a six speed trans and all the new tech stuff has really make such a improvement. But that is the only dissapointment so far.

  • 700 miles ... Love it so far! - 2011 GMC Terrain

After 8 years in a minivan, needed to move on. Compared all available crossovers in the <$30,000 range, w/ focus on MPG. Averaging 22 MPG, mostly city. Looking forward to a road trip to test highway MPG. The cloth seats are very comfortable. Love the backup camera in the rear view mirror. Might have bought up a trim level if wed had more information. Both 54" and 61" find driving, passenger and rear seats comfortable. Overall quite happy with our purchase ...

i traded in a crv to get the terrian because i thought i was going to get better mpg, wrong..dont buy this if you expect the mpg gmc says it will get, i have had it 2 months and i took it out of state xmas and i am getting 26 on highway, 6 miles under what gmc says.. in town about the same 5 miles under....if mpg doesnt matter to you i would recommend this suv, it rides much better than the crv, much roomier..other than the mpg great suv

  • Great car - 2011 GMC Terrain

This is my first brand new car, so it may be a little biased. I have been researching mid-sized crossovers for almost a year before I purchased this vehicle. I absolutely love it. In head to head vs. the several others I was researching, I liked this one the best for style, comfort, and price. The driving is a little numb and the steering is touchy, but it isnt a sports car. The mpg isnt half bad, but no where near the EPA estimates. I am getting a combined 22 mpg, obviously less in the city. Overall though, I love this vehicle

  • 2011 Terrain MPG Experience - 2011 GMC Terrain

I recently purchased the 2011 Terrain SLE-1 for its comfortable ride, features, and gas mileage claims. Although I’ve read a number of user reviews stating disappointment with gas mileage, I’ve averaged 21-22 mpg in the city, and on recent highway trips averaged 30 mpg and 31mpg on trips through OH, WV, and VA, on significantly hilly terrain. On a 150 mile trip over more gentle rolling hills, I averaged 33 mpg. I used the Eco mode, cruise control, and adjusted my driving habits for maximum fuel efficiency, but that was in no way inconvenient, and Ive been very pleased.

  • Good pick - 2011 GMC Terrain

Bought the SLT-2 4 banger AWD with all the options except NAV (why pay for NAV with the On-Star turn-by-turn feature). Traded a Honda Element AWD which we LOVED but needed a full 4- door CUV. The CR-V, Pilot etc. didnt fit the need nor the comfort of the GMC. Looked at all CUVs and SUVs including Hondas, Kias, Hyundias, Chevy, Ford, Toyota, Subaru etc. All others either looked cheap (plastic) on the interior, had rough ride or was just too big (Flex, Traverse, Acadia etc). GM has a winner on their hands in the Equinox/Terrain brothers! Hope time will tell that its as reliable as the Honda was!

  • Enjoyable ride - 2011 GMC Terrain

Owned this vehicle for 2 months and I am very happy with it. I get 25 mpg on the highway, I wish it were closer to the EPA estimate of 29. I like the ride and handling, it drives more car like and doesnt lean on curves like my Envoy. I do a lot of driving between VT and LI,NY and wanted better gas mileage. I got the 4 cyl SLT-1 AWD version in Merlot Jewel, a great color.
