Overview & Reviews
The 2010 GMC Terrain is an all-new small crossover SUV.
- Quiet and attractive cabin, good ride/handling balance, roomy accommodations, impressive fuel economy.
- Cargo space could be more generous, bigger wheels hurt ride quality.

What Happened - 2010 GMC Terrain
By Disappointed - May 18 - 1:00 pmI have had this vehicle for about 5 weeks with 2000 miles on it already. I have been so happy with the way it drives and handles. Until last night, all of a sudden the transmission would not grab. Engine racing and couldnt go over 30 miles an hour. Not sure if it is the transmission or the computer misreading something. Will find out tomorrow once the dealership looks at it. First time I had bought American and hope I am not going to be sorry. I am on the road all the time and need a car that is reliable. I am very disappointed. Never had this happen with any previous foreign made purchases. Not getting anyway near what they advertise for mileage - getting around 22 mph,

Maybe the Ride with Improve with Time - 2010 GMC Terrain
By tommygun - September 7 - 2:16 pmTraded in 07 GMC Yukon XL. Wanted something to fit in my garage year round -- i.e. a big downsizing move. No need to look for small SUVs - most competing dealers would have lauged me off their lots. Got $1000 for loyalty. 14.2 mpg on first tank. The V6 - 19" chrome wheels make ride way too stiff.

2010 Terrain/AWD/V-6 - 2010 GMC Terrain
By Bob - June 11 - 11:33 amWe have owned this vehicle for over 6 weeks and we are very disappointed in the gas mileage. With only 1100 miles so far the best hwy mileage is 17.8. We like the exterior style very much with lots of positive comments coming from strangers. The drivers seat is of the most comfortable seat I have had in a long time. The negatives are: no power passenger seat, no garage door link opener, back-up camera in the rear view mirror is a distraction, no dual heat controls and I cant get used the door lock on the dash. We like the looks and driving the vehicle very much.

2010 GMC Terrain - 2010 GMC Terrain
By John - January 12 - 5:43 pmThe wife and I are now expecting and we needed to trade in the Mustang GT for something a little more child friendly. We researched online and drove many vehicles before we decided on the Terrain. Perfect size. By far best looking SUV in its class. Great power for a 2.4 but a big difference from the GT in driving excitement and surprisingly not much difference in mileage. Highway trips in the GT 22- 24 and around town at 19mpg. So far the Terrains best is 23.5 on a 300 plus mile trip! The worst was 20.1 around town. Doesnt look like the stated mileage will even be close. Keep in mind, this is with my wife driving(Sunday driver).

not happy - 2010 GMC Terrain
By terrain owner - May 26 - 11:13 pmI bought a Terrain based on the advertised 32 highway mpg. I do all highway driving and I havent even gotten remotely close to the 32. I have seen tanks with 22, 23 and 24 mpg. Not happy. Other than the gas mileage I love it. It has lots of leg room for the rearseat passengers. I like that the rear seat slides up and back.

Two weeks Old - 2010 GMC Terrain
By Fred - March 23 - 7:40 pmIn the overall I am pleased with the vehicle. My last three were Explorers so it has taken a little while to adjust to the opposite positioning of wipers, lights, etc.

Tahoe to Terrain - 2010 GMC Terrain
By Former Tahoe Owner - November 11 - 10:36 amLove the exterior design! Has a lot of pep. Handles well and is fun to drive. A little disappointed that a four cylinder doesnt get better mileage. Averaging 25 mpg. Some cheap interior materials. For the price, thought better quality materials should have been used. Half circle bisected headlight illumination is extremely annoying and limits visibility. Rear seat does not fold flat. Doesnt compare to the quality of my Tahoe, but what I gained in fuel economy ALMOST makes up for it.
