Overview & Reviews
For the 2008 GMC Acadia, eight-passenger seating and satellite radio become standard on the base SLE-1 model, while a rearview camera and a second-row console become available on upper trim levels.
- Plenty of passenger and cargo space, smooth ride, above-average tow capacity for a crossover.
- Some subpar interior trim, transmission can be slow to downshift.

Good Car. - 2008 GMC Acadia
By telusmore - July 16 - 4:47 pmAfter testing several other cars including the pilot, highlander, and CX9 we chose the Acadia because it had the best internal room / design and it also handles pretty good. 3 Row space is good as well and access through the captains chairs that fold is really easy.

Not a Honda - 2008 GMC Acadia
By Joe D - July 13 - 11:30 amButtons, too many and too small.Back up sensors, rapid beeping when your 1" away, you might as well hit the object.Sensor lights, too high in rear of truck, you have to bend down to see them, then you cant see out rear view mirror.Windshield wipers,a dial, stupid, should be arm,as on foreign cars, easier to use at night.Controls on steering wheel, too close to wheel hand grips, radio changes when you dont want it too.Worst feature, transmission doesnt downshift quick enough at high speeds. You step on the gas,NOTHING,poor and slow to no response.Worse with AC on.Overall, too many features not though out.

Great car - 2008 GMC Acadia
By Rick - July 12 - 12:16 pmI drove a Honda Pilot for 2 years and needed a larger SUV, but had to keep mpg in mind. I have found that the Acadia has more room and is getting 2 to 3 additional mpg. The only thing I have found wrong with this car is the clothes hooks, instead of being at the back door they have been installed at the third seat and is impossible to hang clothes or reach them. This is the only car I have ever seen this in. I have had this car two month and just turned 7000 miles. I have not had a chance to see out the car tracks in snow.

I love my Acadia but - 2008 GMC Acadia
By Stacy - July 6 - 3:20 pmI love my Acadia. I love the remote start on cold day and how the lights stay on for a minute or so in order to make it to the house. I am disappointed in the gas mileage. I have a noise coming from around the left front tire, it makes a popping sound similiar to perhaps it is misfiring. The dealership says nope it is the ABS setting. Other than the popping at take off no problems and I hope once it breaks in the fuel economy will get better. I would recommend one to anybody wanting a SUV and room to boot it has it and it does not look like a mini van in the process. I plan on keeping it for many years.

I love this car!!! - 2008 GMC Acadia
By Ford Girl - June 24 - 8:24 amI have always been a Ford Girl and have driven an Expedition for the last 10 years. When gas started going up, I needed something more fuel efficient. Test drove the Acadia, and fell instantly in love. Love the features, the interior is so roomy, and the exterior is beautiful. Wish that it was slightly more powerful, but overall, perfect. I would reccomend the Acadia to any and all who asks about it.

DO NOT BUY--RUN TO FOREIGN - 2008 GMC Acadia
By lemonowner08 - June 23 - 8:14 pmThis has been the most disappointing brand new vehicle in all my 52 years of ownership. The sunroof has been "fixed" 3 times and still leaks. A natural gas odor comes through the ventilation system. The driveline is noisy and when you make a tight turn is sounds like the wheels are falling off. The engine is sluggish and hesitates. Poor fuel economy and all over poor engineering. The worst part is poor customer service from the selling dealership. They wont do a thing. Just dont buy the Acadia. It might look nice, but it has a long way to go before it can become a low maintenance vehicle. Prepare to have it in the shop often. Just dont buy it.

Acadia Borders on Excellent - 2008 GMC Acadia
By sidewinder - June 8 - 9:00 amThe 08 Acadia is one solid XUV that met all my expectations and justifies the title, Made in USA (got rid of my German cars that had lots of reliability issues). The pitbull-like stance/exterior, interior design/ergonomics and handling are first-rate and deserve consideration by those looking for pax space and who dont want to drive a van. It feels like one solid block of wood no matter what the road surface is (I opted against the 19-inchers, w/c felt more jiggly and AWD, as my FWD felt quicker during the road test). The engine does have its work cut out for it when prodded lightly but moves the Acadia with authority when you step on it. Cornering ability is impressive.

LOVE My ACADIA - 2008 GMC Acadia
By LOVE My ACADIA - May 26 - 3:23 pmI am a Mom with two young children. We love our new car. GMC did a great job with this vehicle. I love to just get out and drive. We have 3 other vehicles but I find myself wanting to drive my "Black Beauty" all of the time.

Disgusted Acadia Owner - 2008 GMC Acadia
By LT - May 6 - 3:33 pmWe purchased our Acadia in 9/07 because of its safety ratings, size, comfort and price. Initially we had no problem and loved the car until a year after we owned it. Then the leaks started (9/08) and were still having problems. First they installed the drain extension tubes for the sunroof but that didnt work. Ive had water leaks from my dome lights, grab handle, sun visor and on the floor of the passenger side. I also had the ignition switch replaced last month because the engine kept running with the key out of the ignition!! I am currently beginning the arbitration process!

First time SUV owner - 2008 GMC Acadia
By ysashacat - April 24 - 5:18 pmDown side: Fuel economy no where near advertized (12/20mpg), side view mirrors inadequate for viewing, poor visability out back (had to add after market camera),down shifts frequently in small hilly areas. Up side: good ride, roomy, large cargo capacity, heads-up display great. Added Sherwood wood grain kit to interior really makes the interior elegant.
