This Year's Model Updates:

For 2004, the Thunderbird gets revised seat trim, an Audiophile stereo, Homelink and newly styled aluminum accents. Exterior changes include new V8 badging, redesigned 17-inch wheels and a Light Sand Appearance package, which includes cream-colored gauges, a sand-colored top and bronze interior accents. Merlot, Platinum Silver and Vintage Mint Green are new exterior paint choices this year.

Pros:
  • Silky-smooth V8, cool retro styling, relaxed yet capable handling, available hardtop.
Cons:
  • Minimal trunk space, lackluster interior design, no manual transmission offered.

Fun to drive and great to look at. No mechanical problems the first year of ownership.

We bought this wonderful car because we couldnt make a deal with the 350Z at the local Nissan dealer....and glad now we couldnt. I have owned many BMWs and still have a Mercedes....this American car is tops....and we will probably buy American for the Mercedes replacement. Nobody makes a better V8 than Ford.

  • The Bird is the Word! - 2004 Ford Thunderbird

I love my bird! (So does my wife.) I have a Pacific Coast Roadster that is out of this world. She now has over 600 miles in 1 week, all from just cruising around. I have never heard of a car that gets as many comments as my bird - everyone loves this car! Like driving a classic with the safety, reliability, & features of new. The PCR is the 04 limited edition model and the only bird you can get with a light dash instead of black, which was a big factor in our decision. Only 1000 made, so not too common. Color very classy. Gas mileage good for a V8. Get both tops: ragtop-only costs double(!) to insure. You WILL be seen in this car!

  • Worth waiting for - 2004 Ford Thunderbird

I had wanted a Thunderbird ever since I saw the first one in 1955. It took 49 years, but when I saw the Pacific Coast Highway edition I knew I could wait no longer. It is not only beautiful, but also lots of fun to drive. Since there were only 1000 of these made I cant remain anonymous in my town!

  • A car to keep forever - 2004 Ford Thunderbird

I fell in love with the TBIRD the first time I saw it at the auto show in Boston. Price was to high at the time so I thought I would have to wait to buy a used one. Lucky for me this past Sept 2003 my dealer was having a clearance on leftover 2003 models so I snapped up a new Mountain Shawdow Gray T-Bird at a very reasonable price. I am really enjoying this car. It is only driven on sunny days. I love the look of the porthole hard top ...but driving with the top down is so much fun. Power styling and handling can not be beat.

Unless you are willing to fork out big bucks for a retractable hardtop, this is the best true "convertible" on the road, which possesses three excellent and unique looks, whether in hard top mode, or with the soft top up or down, a rareity for a convertible. The styling is impeccable, as are its mechanical components. The first great "Bird" since 1966. Rumor is this will become the 2007 Lincoln Mark X.

  • What Took Me So Long :) - 2004 Ford Thunderbird

After several years of looking and poor buying mistakes, I have finally found a truely amazing car that fits me perfectly. Its classic, yet elegant and sporty enough for most everyone. A perfect combination of style and comfort. Just purchased the newest 2004 color addition (Light Ice Blue Metallic)... absolutely beautiful. Went in to drive (and buy) the Merlot with Sand interior and there she was. An American Icon it is !!! Smooth ride with plenty of HP when needed. Will update after a few months.
