Overview & Reviews
For 2004, the Thunderbird gets revised seat trim, an Audiophile stereo, Homelink and newly styled aluminum accents. Exterior changes include new V8 badging, redesigned 17-inch wheels and a Light Sand Appearance package, which includes cream-colored gauges, a sand-colored top and bronze interior accents. Merlot, Platinum Silver and Vintage Mint Green are new exterior paint choices this year.
- Silky-smooth V8, cool retro styling, relaxed yet capable handling, available hardtop.

Strange issues - 2004 Ford Thunderbird
By SFV-Man - August 16 - 2:37 amThe charm and joy of driving is great. The quirks heating (SaunaBird) of the interior when idling is awful, transmission still slams into Drive, clock (third) still runs slow, rattling top, electronic bugs, lack of amenities (like a stripped Lincoln LS), etc. For the price this is a slapped together car. Too bad. Many trips to dealer did not work out the problems. Ford didnt help. Ford made this car an orphan and dropped it at the orphanage. Bill Ford should be ashamed.

2002 Thunderbird - 2004 Ford Thunderbird
By JDavidM - August 8 - 2:00 amNo problems whatsoever. LOVES to run at 80 mph! No leaks, no rattles! Ford hit a good balance between pure fun and practical - trunk not huge, but still big enough for a weekend trip or an ordinary trip to the grocery store, even with the top down. Seats could use a bit more lower back support, but are otherwise very comfortable. A/C is Great! Power tilt wheel is very convenient.

A GREAT RIDE AND A LOOKER - 2004 Ford Thunderbird
By JASPER - June 27 - 2:00 amThis vehicle is a great looker. I get only positive comments from everyone who sees the car and those who ride in it. It has lots of pickup and power. The only negative I have discovered is that the convertible top rattles a little when it is not up and is in its storage compartment. You can especially hear that noise when the hard top is on.

Thunderbird Ride - 2004 Ford Thunderbird
By David F. Candelaria - March 20 - 9:36 pmMy wife and I, who are in our early 50s were looking for a convertible for Sunday and getaway drives to the coast. We test drove several cars, all convertibles, a Crossfire SRT (330 h.p.), a Nissan 350 & a Vette. The Crossfire was simply too small. The Vette actually body swayed at high speeds. The Nissan was nice but too many on the road. The T-Bird was perfect! We got the premium package and its a great ride with good road feel and more than enough power with 280 horses. Its a very comfortable ride and the Select Shift is good on curved roads. The stereo is great with three settings for top down, up and driver alone in car. Further, theres not too many on the road.
