This Year's Model Updates:

Lower-line V6 models get standard 16-inch alloy wheels and a new hood while losing the fake side scoops. Premium models can be equipped with a Mach 1000 audio system. Both this system and the Mach 460 get speed-sensitive volume. Later this year, an MP3 player will be available. Performance Red paint is replaced with Torch Red.

Pros:
  • Strong V8 power with GT, fun to drive, appealing all-American style, good crash-test scores, ragtop option.
Cons:
  • Solid rear axle, excessive gingerbread detailing on GT, poor stereo ergonomics, flaccid seats.

I love everything about my car! It is thrilling to ride in it with my convertible down, I am a true convertible lover. My favorite view of my car is when I am looking at the rear lights especially at night matched with the light on my aftermarket rollbar. It is absolutely adorable! I love vrooming around in it and hearing the engine. It really turns heads and the leather interior is very comfortable. There are many mustang pony markings on my car. I like running my hand over the rised pony in the center of my steering wheel. If I could do it again would I still buy a mustang convertible? In a heartbeat.

  • Great car to buy! - 2002 Ford Mustang

This is the most reliable car I have ever owned. Before buying the car I considered either the Mustang or a Trans Am. I picked the Mustang because it looks better on the outside and on the inside. Its also a great car for modding. Just added 3.73 gears, K&N intake, Diablo Predator programmer, Bassain O/R X-pipe, Borla catback, short throw shifter, and lowering springs. Also add 03 Cobra rims with 315s in rear and youre set. With these mods I put down 278rwhp and 308rwtq.

Bought my 2002 Ford Mustang Coupe (232 Cu. In. V6, Auto/OD, Premium Edition) in August 2002. Vehicle has performed very well driving back and forth from Pittsburgh, PA, to Secaucus, NJ every other weekend, about 400 miles one way. The Mustang cruises effortlessly at highway speeds. Tranny is properly geared for city commutes, allowing the engines torque peak to be used readily (torque peaks at just 2,750 RPM). Gas mileage ranges from 22 MPG in stop-and-go driving to 31 MPG on long, flat highway drives at 65 MPH. Sound system is good AC handles summer heat. Still uses NO oil between changes! Goes WELL in snow, including recent trip through WV mountains during snowstorm! Still original battery.

Not only looks great but a fun ride. Could use more power in the v-6 but still a nice bit of get up and go.

  • Wow - 2002 Ford Mustang

Perfect blend of quality and value. The interior is far more roomy than my old 97, though the back is still very small. Seems to handle flawlessly, with the exception of hitting a bump or a groove on a bridge while turning. Traction control is amazing, got me out of my parking lot uphill on glare ice where my old car would be running in place. Stops on a dime and you just get the feeling that it is an extremely safe car once you start driving it. Might not be the most gas-efficient but you will not find another car with this kind of performance that will get you 20/28 mpg.

2002 GT bought in March of 2002 and I love every second of driving it. The only thing that is bad as far as Im concerned is how thirsty it is. But thats understandable cause I new what I was getting into when I was buying a V8.

The Mustang is surely one of the best muscle cars in todays market. The design is very original and distinctive. Both the V8 and the V6 versions offer plenty of horsepower and make this car very fun to drive. Handling is good and predictable, but could be improved. The seats are confortable and the overall build quality is very good. The interior is stilish but the door handles are way too cheap. The trunk is surprisingly spacious and functional. This car is perfect for everyday driving.

  • BEST CAR ON THE MARKET - 2002 Ford Mustang

I have had my Mustang for awhile and it was the best investment i have ever made. Its perfect if you are wanting a car that will really turn some heads or just wanting a all around great car for everyday driving. Everyone I know has let me know how much they like the car, but none of them like it as much as I do. It is and in my mind always will be the greatest car ever produced by any manufacturer. I highly recommend this car to anyone wanting a car with a perfect blend of looks and comfort.

Retro in style, in handling, and in functionality. Nothing too hi-tech, better than average sound system, so-so power (no, its not a 390 or 460 Ford, but it can also pass the gas station without stopping for a drink!). Sitting in the drivers seat reminds me of the view of my old 58 T-bird (dual "cockpit", hood scoop). The rides nice, the 5-speed has a longer throw than I like, but then again, Im not going to "power shift" at my age. The rear seat - is nonfunctional (I dont have kids/grand kids to worry about). As far as Im concerned, its an extension of the trunk. The car is primarily a 2-seat "sports" vehicle thatÂ’s more functional than an old MG (and maybe a lot more reliable).
