This Year's Model Updates:

Lower-line V6 models get standard 16-inch alloy wheels and a new hood while losing the fake side scoops. Premium models can be equipped with a Mach 1000 audio system. Both this system and the Mach 460 get speed-sensitive volume. Later this year, an MP3 player will be available. Performance Red paint is replaced with Torch Red.

Pros:
  • Strong V8 power with GT, fun to drive, appealing all-American style, good crash-test scores, ragtop option.
Cons:
  • Solid rear axle, excessive gingerbread detailing on GT, poor stereo ergonomics, flaccid seats.

  • Like it but dont love it! - 2002 Ford Mustang

This car needs more power! I feel like I have to work way too hard to blow some very ordinary cars away! It took me until 3rd gear to finally pull away from a Toyota Avalon the other day...Thats Embarrassing! It also needs more room. Im 63" and the seat needs to go back another 2" and down another 1". Ford definitely has the best looking muscle car on the market, but it needs more power, err muscle!

  • Great car for the price - 2002 Ford Mustang

Its fun to drive and reliable (I have had to do anything other than normal maintanence). If you want a sports car that is easy to live with, the Mustang is worth concidering.

a nice over all car. . Somewhat Sparten interior compared to lot of cars, esp from the East. Dated would be a good word. handles well enough for most people. And under power for me, though once at freeway speeds, with a concious effort on the gas you will go.

  • Best Top Down fun for the price - 2002 Ford Mustang

You cannot get more fun in a car for under $25K. Sticks to the road, just enough torque to feel racy, and a great sound system, with a muscular, punchy styling. This car is solid and remains tight. One exception: squeeky windows that the dealer fixed. But not a single other problem since October 01. Essentially, Ford focused on the things a buyer like me wants, so there may be some paint runs under the trunk, but who cares? Do I wish it had about 40 more horsepower? Yes, its not quite as fast as its looks suggest, but that is being picky. Buy the GT for a few grand more if that is your concern. Overall, a surprisingly great buy.

  • Mustang GT a Real Pleaser - 2002 Ford Mustang

The Mustang GT is a real head turner. The acceleration and handling are outstanding and the Mach 460 stereo system rocks. The car is surprisingly refined for a rear drive muscle car and the quality seems to be very good. I would recommend this car to anyone whom wants a sporty, agressively styled car with the retro look and personality of a sixties musclecar.

  • V6, but plenty peppy - 2002 Ford Mustang
    By -

Bought a 2002 V6 auto a week ago w/just under 25K miles, and its awesome! I didnt need a car that goes 0-60 in 4 seconds, but this car still passes plenty of "sporty" cars without much effort. Plus, its fun to drive and looks good, too. I usually buy imports, and just hope that F.O.R.D. doesnt really stand for Fix Or Repair Daily! So far, it hasnt missed a beat. Smooth ride, and not bad on gas.

  • 6 Tall - 2002 Ford Mustang

Extremely stylish exterior. Not too bad on gas considering it is a sporty car. Stops on a dime, and can get to 60 in no time. Also, I moved a while ago and I was able to pack a lot more in than I had originally thought I would be able to.

  • Mustan - 2002 Ford Mustang

I purchased my Mustang GT Conv. over a year ago. So far it is the best car I have onwed, over Camaro, TransAm and Honda. It handles best on the market and blows the doors of most other cars. The back seat is quite small but is far less noiser than any other convertable I have owned.

  • Fun American Rear Drive Muscle Car - 2002 Ford Mustang
    By -

My 2002 Mustang GT Premium Coupe is brand spanking new, with only 100 miles on it at the time of this review. This is my first Ford, so I cant comment on the reliability. What really drew me to the car were its styling and value. I love the exterior, but am not too crazy about the interior. The value is unbeatable; I couldnt find anything comparable in power or features anywhere near the price. Im looking forward to lots of good times with this American legend.
