This Year's Model Updates:

For 2006, an MP3-compatible CD player is standard on all models, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls are included with CD changer-equipped systems. A new Street Appearance package includes unique fascias, a spoiler and a bright-finish exhaust tip.

Pros:
  • Fun-loving character, forgiving ride quality, responsive steering, comfortable seats, simple controls, wide selection of body configurations and features.
Cons:
  • Sloppy build quality, mismatched interior plastics, inadequate storage and cupholders, no rear head restraints, 2.3-liter engine limited to ST sedan.

  • Excellent car for the money - 2006 Ford Focus

This car is just plain fun to drive. I love the sport feel that the ST offers but also the fact that it is practical and safe. I got the infrared color and have had several people stop me in parking lots and ask me about the car. Eye-catching interior plus a sweet MP3 player make this car a blast to drive, and the power from the larger engine doesnt hurt either. Hard to go wrong with the Focus these days with Ford throwing huge rebates into the mix. I want to move up to a Mustang in the next few years, but to tell you the truth, the Focus will be difficult to part with.

  • Nice, fun to drive - 2006 Ford Focus

Just brought My Focus a few weeks ago and am very pleased. Overall quality is better than I expected and its really a blast to drive. As a former Honda salesperson Im amazed at how well thought out the interior is and the comfort of the ride. Definitely happy with the experience so far.

Had the car for a week and have put on a 1000km. Its actually fun to drive! Handles surprisingly well. Good acceleration, very user friendly. Love it!

  • Best car out (for the money) - 2006 Ford Focus

I picked this up as a commuter car to make the 140 mile round trip commute to school. Its got plenty of power, and is responsive. It rolls down the highway smooth as silk at 75-80 miles an hour. I got the cold weather package (heated seats and side mirrors), Sony audiophile package and all the goodies that come with the SES trim. For the money, this car can not be beat. Comfortable, stylish and plenty of pep from the 2L engine. No other entry level car competes with the Focus.

  • very nice affordable car - 2006 Ford Focus

After extensively shopping even the Mazda 3 and Mini, Im very glad to have "moved down" into my ST. Very responsive and fun to drive for a car that costs thousands less than even the Chevy Cobalt. Well built (so far) with few downsides. Could use more 12v plugs (has just one) and the cup holders are for use in desperation only (good luck getting a jumbo drink to stay in place), but it is after all a small car. The trunk is HUGE and quite functional and the top end trim package (leather, sunroof and traction control) round it out well. Overall Im very happy with it.

  • Great Little Ford - 2006 Ford Focus

Works for my family. Fills any hauling needs except for extra large stuff. Fuel economy is excellent. Fun to drive with good performance. Great price.

  • Focus st - 2006 Ford Focus

As an engineer I try to select based on quality and price. I researched and drove a lot of cars before deciding on the Focus ST. Power to spare and handles like a sports car. 30+ mpg even with the more powerful engine. If this came as a two door coupe it would be a perfect car.

  • First American car in 22 years - 2006 Ford Focus

I have owned and driven Toyotas for the last 22 years and experienced good value and quality. This Ford product is an outstanding value. The drive and feel are exceptional. Gas mileage is above average. I love the styling of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The styling moved me to Ford along with the fair acquisition cost.

  • Great deal ... inexpensive and economical - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

What a surprise to drive the replacement for the Escort, and find it to be such a fun car. Nothing like the Escort. I bought the 5 speed, and it has every imaginable option ... some which I havent figured out what to do with as yet. Incredible gas mileage, plenty of looks, an unbelievable warranty, shifts as smooth as anything I have every driven, and for its size, very quiet. No, I am not a Ford salesman, I am a cop who rides the big Crown Vic, and was absolutely astonished at how nice this car is. The Japanese have nothing close to this car, when you factor price, gas mileage, comfort and basic warranty. Enjoy this neat car!

  • Good Second Car - 2006 Ford Focus

I needed another, second, car for work. I looked at many other makes and types but was surprised by the Focus. It does not have a "cheap" feel to it and seems solid. I am very happy with my purchase.
