This Year's Model Updates:

The F-150 is fully redesigned for 2004. It's bigger, more powerful and offers a greater variety of features and body styles than ever before.

Pros:
  • Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
Cons:
  • Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

  • Quality? Yeah Right - 2004 Ford F-150

My truck only has 8,000 miles and Ive had nothing but problems with it. Where do I start? It all started when the rear power-sliding window stopped working. It took 4 months for the dealership to get the part because it was on back order. That should have been the first clue that more problems were soon to come. Then power steering fluid started leaking from who knows where. After getting that fixed, the brake lights went out completely and the steering wheel started to shimmy when the brakes were applied. Turns out there was an electrical problem and the rotors needed to be resurfaced. If thats not enough, now the transmission is shifting rough. Ill never buy another Ford again.

For the most part the new f150 is a fine truck. My main complaint is that they droped the ball matching this motor with this truck.I find it very slugish on the lower end of the power band. The truck i traded in had a 4.2 6 cylinder with 110000 miles and it still had more bottom end tourque. They need to put more horsepower under the hood!!!!!

  • OLD STYLE VS. NEW - 2004 Ford F-150

Bought this truck after much thought in giving up my Heritage sytle Lariat. Im still wondering if I made the right choice. New Lariat looks like a Dodge RAM in some respects. Some materials, both in and out, are chinsey/cheap. The beltline/bed is too high. Doors sound tinny and hollow when opening/ closing due to sheet metal wobble. No door mouldings to protect side. No Lariat pinstrip. Carpet and floor mats are thin. No Lariat logos on leather seats or mats. No silver metallic 2- tone paint/gray interior available for Lariat. Smaller front floorpans. Captain seats design/placement of seat belt tensioner is awful. Outside mirrors too big & not painted.
