This Year's Model Updates:

The F-150 is fully redesigned for 2004. It's bigger, more powerful and offers a greater variety of features and body styles than ever before.

Pros:
  • Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
Cons:
  • Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

I really do not need a truck which is what I found out about an SUV and this fresh looking vehicle seemed the place to start to see if truckdom will work out.If it does not at least it will have some residual value come time to sell.Ive not had it long enough to tell any tales yet.My first Ford and based on the wifes experiences with her 2 Escapes Im more concerned with customer service and support which has been miserable for my wife.

The Lariat is more than a truck. With the new interior and comfortable size, it can double for your luxury car duties too. The engineering that went into making this truck responsive to drive is impressive. Who would have thought the words "road feel" and "truck" would be in the same sentance? The 2004 F150 is very quiet, comfortable and gets the same mileage as the outgoing model. The drive by wire may make the truck feel slightly sluggish since the power comes on so smooth, but you are always going faster than you think you are in this vehicle.

  • Junk Truck - 2004 Ford F-150

I have 71,000 miles on my truck and it is falling apart. Have gone through 4 sets of tires. Have had to replace both front rotors and calipers, rear also (the right front exploded on me when I had to hit he brakes hard on the freeway) and Ford wouldnt not warranty them with 21,000 miles on the truck. The 4WD part is terrible off road, it might work in the city but stinks in the real world! Plus the motor wont pull anything, and the transmission has been slipping since 40,000 miles. The dealer says it normal and nothing is wrong.

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A TOYOTA MAN WHO WAS LOOKING FOR A STRONG TRUCK. I DROVE THE NEW TUNDRA TO PULL A 5000 BOAT, I SAW THE ADD ON THE NEW F150 AND THOUGHT THE BODY DESIGN WAS BETTER LOOKING THAN THE TUNDRAS. SO I DECIDED TO GO DOWN TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND DRIVE ONE, IT MET MY EXPECTATIONS AND THEN SUM. IT IS THE NICEST DRIVING TRUCK THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. THE BOAT THAT I TOW DOESNT EVEN FEEL LIKE ITS THERE, I HAVE TO KEEP LOOKING IN MY MIRROR. KUDOS TO FORD, THEY DID SOMETHING RIGHT WITH THIS NEW F150. I ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO GO AND TEST DRIVE THIS WONDERFUL PIECE OF MACHINERY.

I would not have bought a Ford. I drove this truck and liked it. The same day I drove a G.M.C. and Dodge. The Ford people told me a lot about the truck. I Drove it again the same day. I bought the truck the same day and am glad I did.

I keep my trucks for a long time. Once I drove the new Ford I had to hve one. The power is great, the styling captures alot of looks from drivers of all makes. If this F150 gives me the same service as my 93 model then Id have to say I got my monies worth. Theres no better looking truck on the road.

  • Wind Noise - 2004 Ford F-150

The wind noise is excessive. Ive had the sliding back window replaced twice and still problem exists. I cannot even listen to radio or carry on a normal conversation. I drive the truck 100 miles to work and back every day so it is very dissapointing. I bought the truck on Jan 1 and it has been in the shop three times. It also has a significant electrical burning smell the dealer tells me is typical. I think I got a lemon!

Very comfortable to drive and as a passenger in front or back seats. Impressive handling. Beautiful vehicle.

  • Great truck - work or play - 2004 Ford F-150

I have owned many other trucks, but this is by far the most quiet, smooth, and comfortable vehicle I have ever owned (car or truck). The inside design is fantastic and my passengers have a tremendous amount of room and are truly impressed with the vehicle. I have hauled over 3700 pounds of brick pavers in the bed twice and the strength of this truck is impressive. My last Ford truck had 238,000 miles on it and I am confident this 2004 will be just as reliable and look just a nice when I trade it in many years from now.
