Overview & Reviews
The 2010 Ford Escape gains a new driver-side mirror that's said to improve the driver's ability to check the vehicle's blind spot. There are also a few optional features for 2010, including a rearview camera, an automatic parallel-parking "Auto Park" feature and MyKey, which allows parents to limit speed and audio volume for their teen drivers. Heated seats are also now standard on the Limited.
- Innovative high-tech features, impressive crash scores, peppy performance.
- Feels old compared to rivals, poor braking performance, non-reclining rear seat is difficult to fold.

My 2010 escape caught on fire - 2010 Ford Escape
By chris davis - August 2 - 6:26 pmWe bought a 2010 ford escape and owned it for six months. We tried to start it and it caught on fire. The escape was a total loss. We liked it before it caught on fire. The dealer did a great job of getting us a car to drive in the meantime. Ford is who I am upset with. They did nothing for us. We lost about $4,000 on the fire. Ford gave us nothing and did nothing to keep us as a customer. I have been loyal to ford but I understand now that ford has no loyalty to its customers. Beware of engine fires in the 2010. It was a scary thing having your new car catch on fire. My wife still wakes up at night. There is no recalls on the ford for electrical fires. Beware

Not Impressed - 2010 Ford Escape
By The Dawg - July 13 - 11:11 pmI did not buy this vehicle, but did rent one for two weeks. Vehicle had approximately 13K miles. Ran the air conditioner most of the time and MPG was terrible. 15 - 17 MPG at the most. Interior design of seats makes it difficult to see left and right when changing lanes. Back seat headrests are high and obstruct view out the back. Seating for five adults was adequate.

Dont drive in mud - 2010 Ford Escape
By Vicki Cowie - July 10 - 12:18 pmThe Ford Escape is not meant for driving in mud. The design of this vehicle causes the mud to build up in the wheel wells and when the mud dries it rubs on the inside of the tire. This caused the inside of the rear tires to wear to the point of a blowout. One Ford dealer said Ford does not recommend driving the Escape of gravel or mud. What good is a 4x4 vehicle if you cant drive in mud. I have only owned this vehicle for 4 months and have 9000 KM. I am so disappointed in FORD.

Never Buy Ford! - 2010 Ford Escape
By Shannon - June 10 - 10:07 pmI had my vehicle in the shop within a month. After multiple visits and attempts to fix the problem Ford Corporate said my noise "was a characteristic of some Escape and Mariner models," "there are things to be done to temporarily fix the issue but it will continue to be an annoyance for the customer." Reference Special Service Number 21233 (if you can find it). Ford cannot fix problem and will not replace the vehicle. My Ford is now a very expensive POS. If you happen to buy the Lemon on the lot, be ready for a huge headache.
