This Year's Model Updates:

The 2010 Ford Escape gains a new driver-side mirror that's said to improve the driver's ability to check the vehicle's blind spot. There are also a few optional features for 2010, including a rearview camera, an automatic parallel-parking "Auto Park" feature and MyKey, which allows parents to limit speed and audio volume for their teen drivers. Heated seats are also now standard on the Limited.

Pros:
  • Innovative high-tech features, impressive crash scores, peppy performance.
Cons:
  • Feels old compared to rivals, poor braking performance, non-reclining rear seat is difficult to fold.

Traded in a 2006 Mustang for this Escape. This is a nice family SUV. But if youre a single guy like myself and have a sports car and thinking about trading in your sports car for this SUV, dont do it. I miss my Mustang like crazy. But getting used to the Escape. Nice looking SUV but power isnt so great. But like I said, my old car was a Mustang and I miss the power.

Bought this for my sons high school graduation. I am impressed by the tightness of the vehicle, rides nice, safety features are definite plus, a lot of car for the money. Our escape came with side bars, SYNC, moonroof, towing, etc. At a very reasonable price. My son loves it and my 15 year old daughter loves it ( they think it looks like a (Land Rover).

Im happy with the escape, I had over 35 cars in my life and I have been happy with Ford, dont buy a Honda what "junks " 2 motors later, any way back to the escape, Im 6 foot 1 and 200 lbs and Im comfortable in it, my wife loves it, it looks tough for a little SUV, no problems, lots of room (Ford, fast, outrageous, raceable, drivable), that is why import sales are going down.

  • Unfairly maligned? - 2010 Ford Escape

I have owned 2 Explorers and now this Escape, and I simply dont understand any complaints about rear seat comfort. In particular, these vehicles have rear seats that are designed to create CARGO areas when they are not in use as seats. As such, I appreciate the fact that they dont recline or move fore/aft, etc. When I fold them flat, I want them to "disappear" and become cargo space, and thats exactly what they do. If my main purpose were to haul people around in my back seats, then I would buy a different vehicle, not an SUV. In the Equinox, the back seats fold down to an angle and do not create a sturdy, flat CARGO surface. Thats not my idea of a "sport UTILITY vehicle."

  • Never Buy Ford! - 2010 Ford Escape

I had my vehicle in the shop within a month. After multiple visits and attempts to fix the problem Ford Corporate said my noise "was a characteristic of some Escape and Mariner models," "there are things to be done to temporarily fix the issue but it will continue to be an annoyance for the customer." Reference Special Service Number 21233 (if you can find it). Ford cannot fix problem and will not replace the vehicle. My Ford is now a very expensive POS. If you happen to buy the Lemon on the lot, be ready for a huge headache.

  • Escape over Toyota - 2010 Ford Escape

As a former Toyota owner I could not be more pleased with my Escape. The last Toyota was a loaded 2008 Camry XLE and the Escape matches or exceeds that car in every way. It is a pleasure to drive and do believe the interior is bad by what you read. Mine is the charcoal color leather and really looks great!

  • V6 - 2010 Ford Escape

Actually its the V6 not 4 cyl. But it drives great! Had a lot of cars and a couple trucks, Chevy and Toyota but this truck beats them out! Reliable, small enough to maneuver, not too quick but its not slow. Gets the same average mpg as my 01 celica. Takes bumps and semi sharp turns and dips like a champ! Taking it camping to Oregon soon. I love this Truck!

  • Plenty of Pep and Room to Haul - 2010 Ford Escape

This is the first 4 cylinder SUV we have ever had. It has plenty of pep around town and on the interstate. Gas mileage is way better than my V8 Mountaineer. This vehicle also has enough room to comfortably haul golf clubs and drums. Can comfortably haul four adult passengers.

  • USA CAN build a good vehicle - 2010 Ford Escape

The Limiteds Camel interior is attractive and the heated leather seats are very comfortable. We added a custom painted pin stripe to the somewhat bland Sangria Red exterior. The vehicle gets 24 mpg in local driving and between 30 and 32 mpg on interstates. Radio fidelity is the best weve heard in any car weve owned and the Synch system is very handy.Though engine roar is evident during acceleration, the ride is wonderfully quiet on the interstates.Surprisingly, this FWD model went through four inches of snow rather well. Some suspension skipping is noticeable on washboard roads. Ample room is available for two bicycles and plenty of luggage. At 4000 miles its running great.
