Overview & Reviews
Entry-level Sport model gets bigger wheels (16s versus last year's 15s) and all Durangos now have four-wheel disc brakes. Inside, you'll find a six-disc CD changer as a new option. A redesign is due for 2004.
- Strong V8 engines, smooth-shifting transmission, excellent ride quality, rugged good looks.
- Dismal gas mileage, dated design.

Been in the shop a few times... - 2003 Dodge Durango
By Warren - January 4 - 3:32 pmBought my SLT 4WD in Nov 03. I hated the way the 04s looked + got a steal on the 03 anyway. At about 5000 miles, all the AC leaked out. Took 2 trips in, and they ended up ripping out the entire dash to replace the leaking parts. They did provide me a free loaner car on trip #2. At about 7000 miles, the driver seat had a pin fall out and the back of the driver seat jammed reclined. Now at almost 12000 miles, recalls for wiper motor, and now the ball joint failure. Plus the heater motor has gone out (died in ice storm last week). Also, gas mileage sucks! EPA rating is bull. I average 12.5MPG with 80% of it highway. I doubt I would buy another one, especially the ugly new models.

Very Nice - 2003 Dodge Durango
By clc - December 16 - 2:30 amI purchased this vehicle based on its appearance and previous reviews about towing capacity and frame design. It has nice, aggressive lines. It handles well whether on or off road. Previous vehicle was Ford Explorer and wanted something with a larger engine for towing. Plenty of space for cargo inside as well.

Styling... - 2003 Dodge Durango
By Lou Stone - October 23 - 2:00 amI feel like a rich man driving this after years of driving Fords (Explorer Sport & Ranger)! Since I got it used, I pay less than I did on my Explorer and have a luxurious ride. Its a bear on gas unless youre on the highway, but thankfully, my commute is only 5 miles.

great except the gas - 2003 Dodge Durango
By Monti-man - June 1 - 2:00 amThe 5.9 V-8 is awesome! All the power you need and then some. But remember, each time the pedal hits the floor, thatll cost you a few bucks on gas for that split second. 3rd row seat is easy to fold and for adults under 6 feet tall, not THAT bad.

Been Perfect - 2003 Dodge Durango
By Greg Richter - April 26 - 2:00 amWas concerned about buying a Dodge had heard there were quality issues. However found a great dealer, Oursiman Dodge in Alexandra, VA. Have now bought my second Durango, first one was a 2000. Have not had one problem with either one. My only complaint is the head room with the rear air. But I see they fixed it in 2004, guess Ill have to buy a new one.

2003 Dodge Durango SLT - 2003 Dodge Durango
By Beth - October 26 - 1:00 amI love my new Dodge Durango but the gas mileage is a problem. It is fun to drive and very comfortable but I am filling it up every other day!! Since it is a big SUV and has great power, I would almost have to say that I should have know what I was getting into. But filling it up with gas every other day is ridiculous - even for a big SUV with great power! I am going to have to budget putting gas in my car!

My First Suv. - 2003 Dodge Durango
By bill thomas - October 23 - 2:00 amI swore I would never purchase a SUV of any size shape or form. I considered a Chrysler Convertable or a Dakata truck but when it came to finalizing my decision the Durango was the perfect choice. Then a trip to Mississippi, I live in Memphis Tenn.,to check on a few used Durango when I was able to purchase a new one for over $10,000 off the sticker price. I love driving my SUV.My Durange is not loaded with extras, has power windos, door locks and keyless entry.Just perfect for my needs and plenty of cargo space, its not to big and/or to small.Dodge is doing good with its complete line of vehicles.
