This Year's Model Updates:

The Pacifica is an all-new six-passenger vehicle that combines the attributes of a wagon, minivan and SUV.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, gets expensive when you add high-end options, fussy climate and radio controls.

Saw the Pacifica at the 2003 Pittsburgh Auto show. Wanted a change from the Town & Country vans we have been driving. Love everything about the car except two things. Being 67" I need leg room. I would have more if Chrysler would redesign the tilt lever and also move the ignition placement. Twice Ive hit the key with the car running and have shut off the engine. My left knee is a tight fit between the door and Tilt lever. Chrysler please fix. Other than that its a great vehicle. Ordered the INFERNO RED car with light Taupe interior.

Great ride. Getting 18 mpg local in winter. Engine and trans work great get 22 mpg on hwy. My wifes Liberty got 21 mpg at 85 to 90 this one might do better at higher speeds than 55 to 65

We got the full featured model with DVD changer, etc. Its an excellent balance between SUV solidity and the handling of a car. Weve had some mechanical problems though. The brake rotors were warped, and when the rear windows are open an obnoxious ear-deafening vibrating sound can be heard. Visibility is really bad with the small rear view window. Our driver side mirror makes clicking noise and has limited mobility; this was reported to dealer mechanic, but they didnt do anything. The tire sensors continuously go off--its very hard to keep the air balanced accordingly. Avoid dealer mechanics at all costs-- boy do they rip you off! I only get 19 MPG--which is much lower than sticker

Needing a vehicle that seats 6, but not wanting a minivan or an SUV necessarily the Pacifica caught my eye. I love the clean lines and the luxurious ammenities in this car. It provides a very comfortable ride and is fairly responsive. The number of options for the price are amazing. Particularly love the DVD player, sound system, memory seats and heated seats. The only negative is that the engine is average at best for this year. It probably would have been OK if I hadnt drove an 07 with the 4.0L. With a budget in mind, we went with the options over the more powerful engine. This vehicle was a steal for the price!

I bought mine used with almost every option except Navigation (couldnt find one with it) for a great price compared to everything else for its size and utility and quality. Its been great but now I like the couple updates in the new ones - guess Ill wait until they come down in price.

  • Nice Luxury SUV at a decent price - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Ive had the Pacifica AWD for about a 1 1/2 yrs (bought it used at a decent price) and the only complaint is the gas mileage but I knew that buying it. My needs changed so I travel more now so want something similar with better MPG but cant havent found anything I like better yet but an 07 (4.0L engine) Pacifica. I have a loaded one and dont want to give up all the features.

At 35000 miles transmission began mis-shifting, jerking, 11 weeks 5 visits at dealer between 35 and 67000 miles Told transmission OK rebuilt AWD. Told I believe they thought I had unrealistic expectations. Mis-shifting when down shifting 60 to 80 mph. At 67,000 miles on the highway transmission failed completely. Dealer told me transmission not repairable. Fortunately had extended warranty. Now low gear shifting OK still mis-shifts at high speeds. A bad quirky transmission.

It is great to drive in long distance and enjoy quietness. I love this car. But for small people like me, it is hard to see the front and the back of the car from small windows/glasses.

  • Rating my new Pacifica - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

I drive over 50,000 miles per year and this is one of the most comfortable and road worthy vehicles I have ever driven. Extremely comfortable when I am driving and very sure footed in adverse weather. Only dissapointment is that I get just under 21 mpg. and that really is not that bad for this quality of a vehicle.
