For the 2006 Uplander, a shorter regular-wheelbase version has been added to the lineup, and a 3.9-liter V6 with 240 horsepower is now an option on front-wheel-drive, long-wheelbase Uplanders. Side-impact airbags for the outboard second-row occupants is another new addition. Finally, last year's Sport Suspension package has been renamed the Safe and Secure package.

We have drivenit 1100 miles, about half being on interstate. It handles great on the highway while staying within the speed limits. I found it sluggish when passng other cars, but it is sufficent for passing and has power left over. The nice part, my wife can get up from her seat and reach the back seats without stopping. That is a luxury with other people in split seats.

I like the dash layout, son loves the DVD player. It keeps him entertained for hours. Love the power doors. Real handy if hands are full. Great safety features like abs/traction control, antiskid control, side airbags. OnStar is great.

  • Excellent Sport van - 2006 Chevrolet Uplander

We needed a bigger car for our expanding family, so we broke down and decided on a mini-van. After researhing many brands, we came across the Uplander. At first look, we thought it was an SUV. This made us feel better about buying a mini-van. When we went to the dealer to see one in person, we were more than impressed with the features of the Uplander. It didnt take long after that before we went ahead and bought one. We love it!

After driving a Lumina APV and Venture for 140K+ miles each, I had to give the new Uplander a try. I saw some negative reviews, but much to my delight, the van has performed without any issues. The front seats are comfortable providing good back support and allow you to get a good view of the road. The headlights are amazingly bright. It has a smooth, quiet ride and has been better on gas than my past vans. The inside is roomy and the sound system is great. The DVD player with remote is good for movies or video games for the kids. The dashboard displays are easy to read and the controls are easy to use. Ive received a lot of positive feedback on the new exterior look as more SUV-like.

  • Best work van - 2006 Chevrolet Uplander

After years of driving an Express van for work I was afraid the Uplander wouldnt have the space I needed. But the 2 side doors actually make it easier to get my things out and the fuel economy is way better than my old Express. It is far more comfortable and for the price I couldnt be happier. I think its a great electricians van. Acceleration is poor, but Ill trade for gas mileage. I save $300 a month in gas over my old Dodge 350 van.

  • Not bad... - 2006 Chevrolet Uplander

Honestly, I am very impressed with the interior luxuries of our fully loaded LT. Exterior is a little bizarre, but bearable. As far as performance, anyone who would describe any mini-van as "fun to drive" is really reaching, that, or they have not owned anything else. My van accelerates well and offers reliable safety - precisely why I bought it. Dont get me wrong, Im not trading the Benz in for another one...

Wasnt too thrilled with roof rail, thought it was like roofrack where you could put things on roof. Also do not like not having key lock tailgate. Am also not happy with advertised fuel economy, advertised 24/18, more like 19/15 ordered trailering package, only received wiring harness, no trailer hitch installed
