This Year's Model Updates:

The Tahoe gets a host of new upgrades for 2003. On the inside, you'll find new tri-zone climate controls, an enhanced driver-information center and a redesigned center console and instrument panel. New options includes second-row bucket seats and adjustable pedals. A revised lineup of entertainment options offers buyers a Bose audio system, as well as XM Satellite Radio and a DVD-based entertainment system. For increased safety, there are dual-stage airbags, a standard front-passenger-sensing system, three-point belts for all second-row passengers and an available StabiliTrak stability control system on Tahoes with the 5300 V8. The braking system has been upgraded for what Chevrolet says is better pedal feel and performance and Tahoes sold in California are now fitted with a new catalytic converter that earns the truck ULEV certification. Deleted items on the Tahoe are minor. No longer standard are third-row floor mats, an underhood light, a 7-to-4 pin trailer brake adapter, an auxiliary door lock switch in the cargo area and a lock for the center console.

Pros:
  • Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, numerous available amenities.
Cons:
  • Spotty build quality, interior materials could use improvement.

Purchased 2003 Z71 two weeks before I took 1900 mile trip to Fla and back. Just drove excellent thru the N.C. mountains, wife claimed she had tough time keeping up in the BMW. First American vehicle purchase since my 1974 Blazer. Im impressed how well it handles.

I owned an Explorer since 98 and was never pleased with it. I was not even planing on buying this Tahoe until I saw it in a dealers lot. I thought about it a few days and went and bought it. I will tell you this, I will never buy another Ford. I love this vehicle. It looks good sitting beside my 1991 Chevy truck. I feel like I have come home.

No problems with the exception of the tachometer not working. Overall, the Tahoe has met our expectations and is an great riding and driving vehicle.

This is my 3rd Tahoe. I love them especially with one in sports I can keep everything in the cargo area and not have to take this in and out everyday. The turning radius is a lot better than it used to be. The seats dont seem to be as comfortable as my last but thats okay. I really like the radio to where we can both listen to different things at the same time.

It pulls my 21 foot boat with no problems. It handles the bumps in the road while towing better than my 2002 LT Tahoe. Pulls the boat out of water on slippery boat ramps with little to no problem. Only problem is that it is very difficult to add after market items (ie) XM radio. After three tries finaly got it right. Other than that I love it

raildust?? truck showed signs of rust problems @ 6000 miles...dealership buffed under warranty, but vehicle has poor paint adhesion on front grill & painted surfaces. 4WD inoperable @ 9000 miles... dealership removed error codes and problem has not yet returned.. highbeam relay failed causing the lights to remain on & melted down the fuse panel under the hood @ 11000 miles.. dealer replaced components under warranty (all except the blackened cover).... overall i like the truck, but am disappointed in the quality... the guys @ the arlington plant need to do their homework!

I think GM wrecked the 2003 tahoe, the 2002 was the last good year. The front seats are larger in the 02 than the 03. There are too many cubby holes in the dash area in the 03, and it looks unattractive. Had to take it to the dealer many times to fix a simple, yet, messy problem with the front axle leaking due to a defective vent tube. Build quality was surprisingly good. Great ride for an SUV with a truck frame!

I had been looking for a car and or an SUV to eplace my Ford Explorer. (By the way - My for NEVER had a problem and I had it 4 yeas.) Anyway, The Tahoe Z71 (with the entire bell and whistle package) is not a sports car. Too fast around a corner and the high side walls of the tires flex and a 4 wheel drift is started. But, very responsive. But, its not made for that. Power, its there when you need it. Comfort, its definately there. Smoth ride and a very suprising tight turning radius for the size. Overall, I am very happy with the puchase. I got white with tan leather. Other car/SUVs I was looking at: BMW X5, Land Rover, Lexius 330

We bought one of the first Tahoes when the new "Suburban" bodystyle came out in 1995. It was a great vehicle for family ventures to the beach and nice for hauling groceries and shopping packages. The new model goes well above our previous Tahoe with improved engine performance, ride, and features. A great family SUV for road traveling and long trips.

  • I like my Tahoes - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

Have owned two tahoes (LT) and have not been back for any problems. I was nervous about trading in the 2000 because I thought I would never get one as good as it had been. The new one has been perfect so far. Im not nuts about the fuel mileage, usually averaging about 15, but I accept it as normal for a large vehicle. One concern has been the fast steering. The steering is a little too responsive for me. I have adjusted to it but would prefer a little less resonsiveness. My wife likes it just the way it is because it "steers easy".
