The value-priced Work Truck package is now available on both regular and extended cabs. Base models pick up cruise control, a sound system, chrome rear bumper and chrome wheels. An automatic transmission is now standard on LS models, and the V6 is no longer an option in this trim. Other updates include new polished aluminum wheels and 265/70R16 tires with either black sidewalls or raised white lettering. The Quadrasteer option no longer requires the buyer to order trailering equipment. There's also a new tonneau cover, and inside, you'll find underseat storage. Finally, Chevrolet has deleted the Silverado's passenger-side outside door lock.

The overall ride is very close to my old Tahoe but the performace is much better. Im very happy with my decision to buy this truck.

By Mark - January 8 - 12:23 amThis is a nice truck. Driving, handling, and towing ability is great. The AWD is a nice feature. If you tow a boat, getting out of the water with those steep ramps is easy. The truck has a great look. The gas mileage could be a little better, but compared to the 5.3 gas mileage, thats not bad for 50 more HP. There are not many SS out there, so if you want something that is real and draws attention, this is a great truck in all categories. Just for a few more grand, you will be satisfied. Test drive says it all. I own two SS, 1990 454SS and 2004 SS. Both trucks are excellent.

If your in the market for a well built truck,consider the Silverados good looks, standard features, resale history and actual selling price. In my opinion when one considers rebates, dealer incentives and quality of this truck how can you not love it?

My Chevy - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Tom - October 30 - 12:56 pmThis truck is so much more reliable than anything Ive driven before, which include 2 Ford Rangers, a Ford Expedition, and a Toyota pickup. I havent had one single problem or issue with it. It needs to be serviced every 3000 miles, but once I went 8,000 miles without an oil change (oops) but it can handle it. On occasion the brakes make noise but Im not the most conservative driver and I havent had new breaks installed since I bought it. One time I noticed something was squeaking on the inside cabin, again, this will happen with pretty much every truck, depending on how and where you drive it. Dont use this thing to commute, although it can handle it, it only gets 15-16 mpg on streets
