Overview & Reviews
The Malibu gets little in the way of upgrades for 2003. There are two new colors to choose from -- Summit White and Medium Gray Metallic -- and a new seat fabric on LS models. ABS brakes are now optional on base models, but remain standard on the LS.
- Comfortable and roomy interior, low price, ample feature content.
- Poor expected resale value, not as refined as top-selling Japanese family sedans.

Bang for your buck - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
By sailordave - November 10 - 10:19 pmIf buying used, youll get your moneys worth. Bought it one year old with about 30,000 miles. Smooth steady acceleration, smooth shifting transmission with no neck snapping jerk of the shift, good interior layout of controls, and a nice highway cruiser.

Sleek Malibu - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
By Spunky 911 - March 17 - 2:18 pmIve had this car a little over two years and I havent had one problem. The v6 engine is powerful, it rides very smooth, and its very easy to work on. The only money I have had to put in to this car was gas, oil change, brakes, and a tail light bulb. The A/C blows ice cold and if you take car of it, I recommend this car to anyone.

Silver Malibu LS - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
By rhonda - December 4 - 1:42 pmIve enjoyed my Malibu LS. The only problems Ive been having lately are starting and staying charged up. And the radiator seems to run hot. But other than that I have enjoyed my vehicle. I would recommend it to anyone.

By andrea soupos - May 10 - 9:14 amA very reliable car. Absolutely no problems with any part of it. Good quality for a reasonable price & 6 cylinder engine power important for highway driving.

2003 Malibu 4 DR. Sedan - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
By LGR14481 - September 8 - 12:22 amThe 2003 Malibu has been a ok ride. The only major problem since Ive owned it has been the brakes anywheres from 8- 10,000 miles alway needing work, recycled rotors, replace pads etc. I have replaced with remaned calipers, that included new pads, I feel it has done some better with anti-seize on the slides as far as the leangth of time between pad replacement? The brake problems appeare only in the front end,due to poor design, not so much in the rear? I love the 3.1 engine power, it has and pickup is great? The Malibu is a comfortable ride, with pleanty of room for five passengers? The arm rest has a tendency to loosen up over time I believe due to poor design? Told 2004 & 5s are better?

Very Reliable Car - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
By AZALIA31 - March 22 - 7:38 pmI bought my Malibu new and have had it for two and a half years now. A very reliable car. Very nice factory stereo. I already have 30,000 miles on it, and its taking everything I give it. It has very good pick up. Makes it easy to get on the highway quickly. Overall Im very happy with my car and have no plans of replacing it any time soon.

2003 Malibu - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
By sailordave - December 28 - 6:03 pmFor those saying poor gas mileage, try checking your tire pressure, air filter, and quit the jack rabbit starts. My city mileage is about 22 mpg. Good handling and acceleration. Large trunk. Good value for what you get.

Good, reliable transportation - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
By Steve Goldman - December 21 - 11:40 pmI bought this vehicle in May of 2003, and have had no major issues. The only minor issue I had (Check engine light came on), the dealer took care of. I find the car to be quite comfortable, and more than sufficient power. It is basic, but considering the cost difference vs the Camry, I did not feel like I was sacrificing much.

By granddonnadjs - October 16 - 2:00 amMolding around car does not fit together and can not be replaced. Gas gauge went haywire after 10 months and needed service. Nice car but poor workman ship inside and out.
