This Year's Model Updates:

The Malibu gets little in the way of upgrades for 2003. There are two new colors to choose from -- Summit White and Medium Gray Metallic -- and a new seat fabric on LS models. ABS brakes are now optional on base models, but remain standard on the LS.

Pros:
  • Comfortable and roomy interior, low price, ample feature content.
Cons:
  • Poor expected resale value, not as refined as top-selling Japanese family sedans.

This is one of the few automotive bargains in todays market place. Good features at a relatively good price.

Plain Jane? Yes. Built like a truck? Yes. Meets the needs of a family of four? Yes. The Malibu was our last throw-in" when we made our short list of mid size cars to test drive and after test driving the imports we found this Chevy to more than meet what we wanted in price, build and performance.

  • My New Malibu Review! - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu

I absolutly love my new Malibu! Its convenient yet sporty and attractive! The engine has good pick up and the stereo system is very sharp! The rear spoiler gives that sports car look with out the inconvenience of the small size. I will drive my Malibu until the doors fall off!

Its not a BMWr, but it does everything well and has been totally trouble- free. The Malibu has apparently earned the intial quality award that it has advertised.

I bought my Malibu in November 02. It has ran great so far, but the gas milage isnt as great as I would like it to be. I have the base model with the remote keyless, aluminum wheels, and power widows, locks, etc. I love the color which is the new medium gray. Over all considering I paid 15,000 tax and all, I would say that I got a great car at a really great price.

This car is great! I have a summit white Malibu LS, and I drive it to work 90MI one way, and have never had any problems. I have changed the oil, and rotated tires. I love how it picks up when entering the freeway. Good engine!

  • Great Car! What a Deal! - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu

I love this car. I dont understand why Chevy doesnt sell more. It is a perfect size, looks good, easy to drive, very comfortable, and very reliable.

  • One nice car. - 2003 Chevrolet Malibu

This is the first brand new car I have ever owned and so far I am completly satisfied with the car. My only complaint is when the air conditioner/defroster is running the gas milage on this car goes down the crapper. I have taken it back to the dealer but they have not be able to find anything wrong. Except for that, the gas mileage is good for a car running with a six cyl. Handles very well and has a smooth and quiet ride.

After months of searching for the right mid-size sedan, I found out about the Malibu through research on Edmunds.com. I fell in love with its conservative styling, outstanding performance and competitive pricing. Perfect for daily commutes and longer road trips. Plenty of standard features on the 4-dr. Sedan model made stepping up to another trim package unnecessary. An all-around fantastic car.

Mine is actually a 1997, the first year. It currently has 103,450 miles and is doing fine. I enjoy the car, but the engine only has 155 hp because they didnt upgrad the engine until 2000. Overall, the car hasnt been bad and Ive not had the brake problems some have had. My gas mileage isnt what I would prefer, but I do drive a little fast. My mom has a 1995 Olds Cutlass 2 dr with the 3.1 V6 with 162,000 on the engine, so I am hoping for the same with the Malibu. It has been a good car and I would recommend it.
