Overview & Reviews
The Cobalt is a replacement for the aged Cavalier and like its predecessor it's available in both coupe and sedan body styles.
- Smooth ride and sporty handling, torquey four-cylinder engine, premium content for basic-car price.
- A few cheap plastic interior parts, odd exterior styling details.

Good concept, poor execution - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Brian - June 25 - 11:36 pmPoor build quailty! Ive had nothing but problems with this car. I bought this over the SRT-4 and regret it. Its been in the shop once a month since I got it.

Major Issue - Stay Away From The Cobalt - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Rob P. - June 25 - 11:05 amUnfortunately, I recently found out that the Chevy Cobalt utilizes an electric power steering system as opposed to a hydraulic system found on all other cars. The electric steering system has a high failure rate and the average cost for repair is $2k. I am one of those unfortunate owners and will have to sell my car because of this issue. No recall notices by GM and I dont anticipate one. After avoiding American cars for 20 years, I made the mistake of re-entering the GM/Chevy market and Im sorry I did so. Because of this, I plan on not ever purchasing another GM vehicle. Very sad.

Great Car - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Rick - June 24 - 12:16 amI love this car, quick pick up, great handling, and I like the look of it, not to mention the gas mileage. A huge step up from my 03 Civic.

Better than a Cavalier - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Chevy Always - June 23 - 7:53 amSo far so good, this car is alot of fun. I have had only one problem so far as a high pressure switch went out on my air conditioning. It was gratefully worked on and fixed. There were a couple of recalls that I had to take of, but hey, for the price, no problem. I would recommend this car to anyone. Im only mad that I didnt get the higher performance engine.

Not without a warranty - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By avery - June 20 - 8:48 pmThis car I ordered and waited 6 months for it, it didnt disappoint. The power the feel best bang for your buck. However it is built kind of like a home made rocket ship, amazing performance, questionable quality. Build quality should go negative for this car

My new car - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Kristine - June 15 - 12:04 pmBought this car because I read a lot of positive reviews on it. Then the test drive came and I loved it. I used to drive a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Laredo but I was a victim in a car crash and it was taken away from me. So safety was my key concern and let me tell you, I feel safe in this car!

Great little car - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By cobalt - June 14 - 9:36 amBought this car used <10000 miles, now have 54000, aside from tires and oil changes no repairs needed. Have had many people of other makes ride in it all compliment the ride. Great gas mileage, have gotten up to 37 highway on extended trips, mostly around 32 daily.

Great Car - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Hanna - June 13 - 3:30 amI wanted a 4-door sedan type model so I was stuck figuring which one to get: the new Cobalt, Corolla, or Mazda-3. Found out the Corolla was too pricey for even the most basic features and the Mazda-3 was very sporty looking but being a young mom, I wanted a car that had the sporty look but can pass for a family car as well. So I got the Cobalt! Its a great new car for the price that I got it for.

My Cobalt - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By lisa - May 21 - 8:10 amI purchased this little Honey a few months ago. Its perfect for me, but I would have liked power windows. I didnt know they made power doors and not power windows both on a car. I thought it was standard. Go figure. Its drive is perfect. The driver seat adjusts for a shorter person like me and I love it. Chevy has been really considerate for the shorter people. In my last car, I needed a pillow to see over the steering wheel, even with tilt steering. This is also my first Chevy, but wont be my last.
