Overview & Reviews
Changes for 2005 include a new optional touchscreen navigation system and a chrome exterior accent package. Interior trim has been split up into LS and LT levels. Steering wheel radio controls and OnStar are now standard on all models.
- Versatile and innovative cab configuration, strong V8 engines, substantial towing ability, comfortable daily driver.
- Some cheap interior pieces, lifeless steering, fewer drivetrain choices than comparable trucks.

Love my truck - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche
By union worker - February 19 - 9:09 pmPurchased new, wheel alignment out of specs from factory it pulled left on test drive. Oxygen sensor went out in 1900 miles- took two days for part. Lots of interior room room for four large adults. Thats why I bought it. At 5400lbs, good touring vehicle and can haul/tow

Red Hot - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Andy - February 12 - 12:07 pmI was looking for a versatile truck that I could use for hauling as well as room for my family of three. After spending a considerable time looking and driving all options available I settled on the Avalanche and I am glad I did. It is the best purchase of the 20+ vehicles I have owned. I bought a model without body armor because of the improved looks from past models. My only suggestion to Chevrolet is that they improve the interior on the LT models by using less plastic. I have 5000 miles on the vehicle now and have experienced no quality or warranty problemns and getting a consistent 18 MPG. I would definitely recomment this vehicle to anyone.

My second Avalanche - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche
By dasebolka - February 11 - 12:29 amI am the Avalanches biggest supporter. This is my second Avalanche purchased in three years. The first Avalanche had an unpleasant encounter with a tree and utility pole. I was able to drive the vehicle home after the accident and had no injuries. The same could not be said of the vehicle. As long as Chevrolet continues to produce the Avalanche, I will continue to purchase them. They are an excellent, safe vehicle for my family of five. The Avalanche gets two thumbs up from this customer.

Best truck out there - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Brian Jermyn - February 3 - 2:10 amThis truck is an excellent vehicle. I enjoy it more every day I drive it. It is like no other truck as far as versitility goes. And it is as comfortable, and smooth as any truck can get. It rides like a car--very smooth. I have used it for numerous things- mostly comfortable trips back and forth to work, but also have picked up plenty of supplies, and it is soo easy to change from suv to p/up truck. The top panels come off, and go back on so easy it is great. anyone interested in this vehicle, do not pass it up it is an excellent vehicle. buy it and enjoy it, as much as i do.

Avalanche vs Silverado - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche
By charles sigmon - January 27 - 10:00 amTraded a 1999 silverado on this vehicle. This vehicle can do all the silverado did plus the ride is far superior. It is fully loaded and has all the creature comforts that the Cadillac EXT has with exception of stabilitrak. All for $9000 less than the EXT

This is a great truck - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Allmondt - January 13 - 11:29 amThe most comfotable truck I have had the pleasure of driving. With the power adjustable pedals my 52" wife finds the vehicle easy to drive and handle. When I first bought the truck she said she would not drive it. After riding in it for a few months I have a hard time getting it away from her. The cargo area is small but the cover is very easy to remove and the bed is dry. (even after 20" of snow). This is not a work truck but great for pulling a trailer and transporting a family. The 4 wheel drive options are nice. I used both automatic 4WD and full time 4WD druing our 20" snow storm. I went where ever I wanted. 14 mpg city about 17 mpg highway

Love it! - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Dave - January 1 - 1:16 pmI have over 52,000 miles on my 2002 Z71 4x4 Avalanche, I also tow a 6,000 lb tralier on camping trips. Never have had a problem since Ive owned it, not even a burned out bulb. I change the oil & filter every 3,000 miles. Chevy got this one right! Best SUV/truck on the road, rides like my Town car. Off road is awesome too.
