Great ability to open and store deck panels by one person. Good visibility in traffic. Handles all 4W terrain well.

Ive owned trucks since 1980. Fords, Toyota, Chevy..and without a doubt this is the nicest riding, roomiest, and responsive truck Iv ever owned. The paint is great, no orange peel, and the lines with the clading make it fairly bulletproof. The weight distribution is so good that in most snow, I dont even use 4WD. If you are on the fence about buying one of these, and are willing to pay for a 6000 lb moose, do yourself a favor and buy one of these. It has a tight turning radius and is nimble and quick for its size. You cant see well out the back window, but its not as bad as some reviews make it seem. You get used to it. I love this truck. I tried to find fault with it but I couldnt.

The real thing. A Chevy big block with even more cubes than its ancestors. Needed more than a standard cab truck for new family addition, and couldnt stand the idea of not having an 8 bed for occasional use. This fits the bill just right. A very versatile truck with all the comfort and power of an old full size vehicle. We found the midgate to be a breeze to operate. A real cool truck on a nice day with the midgate down, 4 windows and sunroof open. Will add a performance program, synthetic oil, and performance air filter to wake up the 8.1. 12 to 13 mpg on a variety of driving. The 7 month pregnant wife loves it too.

  • Greatest Truck Ive Ever Owened - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

I have always loved the look of the Avalanche and now I love everything about it. The ride feels like you are not in a truck at all but a big luxury car. It has alot of power and is very fun to drive.

  • Great Multi-Purpose Luxury Vehicle - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

A great vehicle for a mix of luxury and utility type environments. It accomodates and impresses passagers with comfort and style, while providing area to haul almost any type of cargo. The interior provides room, comfort and quietness to conduct business in person or on the phone. The cargo area can be changed and adapted with ease and on-the-fly to provide security with lockable closed- in space or one can change the setup to enable hauling of large long items. All of this with one vehicle, saves me money and a tremendous amount of time and effort.

This truck drives like a Lamborghini - plenty of power and excellent handling, far better than the 1500 series. After one year and over 10,000 miles, the truck runs better than new and is free of mechanical problems. I love it!

  • After one year - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

My Avalanche is the first full size truck Ive ever owned after 25 years of driving. I bought it for its versatility, towing capacity and styling. The truck has not disappointed after 16,000 miles. Gas mileage in congested Dallas, with a lot of stop and go traffic everywhere, has averaged a little over 15 MPG. I like the ride and handling of the vehicle and its really very comfortable as a daily driver. The only build quality problems Ive had are with the body side molding which developed adhesive bubbles that required replacement of all door moldings after one year. I would never buy a just a pick-up. The versatility of a luxury vehicle with the ability to tow and haul is great!

  • Almost there...but still just a Chevy - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

Ive used every inch of this vehicle and it can handle any type of cargo. One of the best options for self employed construction, plumbing, etc. Z66 impressed early but as time goes on it needs far too much dealer work. Comes with almost anything you could need for short, mid, or long drives. Comfortable seats both front and rear but leather is very cheap and wears quickly. Stereo is well below the quality that should be expected for the price of this vehicle. Eats oil like nothing Ive ever driven. Gas mileage is horrible...and I was prepared for bad mpg, but not single digit bad. Tires become worn easily for some reason. Any truck is as good and 10K+ less with fewer overall hassle

  • A Pickup with Class - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

First we thought about buying an Escalade, then we looked at both the Avalanche and the Escalade side by side. Not any difference in the profile. The front end was different as was the interior. For saving the extra money and being practical we went with the Avalance on a Smart buy. We have been on one trip (1200 miles) and this is a very comfortable and luxurious truck. We averaged 19 mpg on the trip, the power is very good along with the fuel economy. Six passengers are no problem. We took my daughters dog with us one way to leave with a friend, the back seat folded down, the rear bulkhead folded down and the kennel sat with the door open in the cargo area facing forward. Worked great
