The North Face package is no longer offered, but an electronic stability control system is now available as part of the Z66 Premium On-Road Suspension package. Hydroboost brakes are now standard on all 1500 series Avalanches and the optional 8.1-liter V8 is now rated at 320 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque.

  this truck is excelent i have a magna charger super charger on it and you cant tell when you are towing a trailer the prob i have with this truck is the drivers seat is going flatat bottom part of you sit on i am thinking abought going over to the dealer to complane abought this my friend has a 2002 hd 2500 his seat is so flat that the fABRIC IS NOW BAGGIE ON THE SEAT MY LAST TRUCK WAS A 1997 TAHOE WITH A 170000 THOUSAND MILES ON IT THAT WAS THE BEST SEAT I EVER HAD IT DIDNT GO FLAT SPORRY OWNER OF A 2003 AVALANCHE SEAT

  This vehicle handles great, and is very comfortable to drive. It has every feature needed to make this a top class pick up, with a taste of luxury. With its V8 and 535 HP, this truck has the power to PULL. The Avalanche has the best of both worlds all wrapped up in one vehicle...SUV/PICKUP. I give it a well deserved 10.

  It is better on gas miliage then i expected for such a big truck. And the comfort is the best.

  I love the looks of the truck, but unfortunately it has started to fall apart. So far the front right axle seal had to be replaced, the battery started leaking battery acid all over the windshield washing resevoir causing it to leak the entirety of its fluid, theres a clunking noise in the front end, and theres also something wrong with the steering column. Itll be a miracle if I ever do business with GM ever again. The policies that their dealerships practice are not consumer friendly and at most have left me aggravated.

  A few problems to look out for: The plastic side pannels rub on the front fenders causing rust spots. Just recently hit 30,000 mi. and now getting noise from the lifters and also squeeking from the belt. Oil was always changed on time. Very poor rear visability. Lots of noise and vibration with sun roof open. Poor quality stereo and speakers. Over all a nice truck with great features and pleanty of room for the passengers. Wish they would have put in a power rear window. Pain in the butt to have to lower rear seats and remove rear window. Many new trucks offer powered rear window.

  Awesome vehicle. Absolutely love. Had the Tahoe for 3 years before. Avalanche is sporty and fun to drive.

  This is the best vehicle Ive ever owned. Rides better than my Caddy. Love the ability to convert to a full size truck bed. The steering linkage makes a clicking noise.

  I have had a great time with my New Alvalanche. It took me a month just to get use to all the nice gagets and features. I still get a kick out of driving down the highway and making my side mirriors fold in at the same time. The conversion is always a thing of beauty. I have been asked several times to perform the change and I always deliver on the request. When I am behind the wheel I feel large and in charge. The wheel span on this vehicle in incredible.
