Overview & Reviews
The Rainier is an all-new SUV for Buick. It is based on GM's capable midsize SUV architecture which also supports the Chevy TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy. The Rainier is available with a V8 power, but there is no extended-length version.
- Strong drivetrains, upscale exterior treatment, decent off-road ability.
- Same old plastic inside, extra features jack up the price.

Chuck chooses - 2004 Buick Rainier
By Chuck also - October 23 - 2:00 amI like many got tired of driving and in a almost prone position. The size is perfect for my business driving and love it on trips. The one thing I missed was my previous car had heads up display. I assume this will be added in the very near future. The handling is fantastic as you can make tight U-turns with little effort. Keep up with bringing us great vehicles.

Buick Hits Home Run - 2004 Buick Rainier
By New Oreans Buyer - October 18 - 2:00 amVERY smooth and quite ride. Handles well Agree with current owner, it could use more storage. Cross bars for roof rack should be standard. This seems a little cheap on Buicks part for a car in this price range. Same with front seat side air bags. Would love for it to have had the Buick famous icon (the three holes on the front quarter panels). This would have been the icing on the cake for exterior. Too new for reliability opinion. Only one defect at delivery. The console lock would not hold down the cover whne bumped. New lock clip was ordered.

Buick Rainier - 2004 Buick Rainier
By Cpik - September 14 - 2:00 amI love this SUV! I have owned it for 8 months now and have not had any problems. The ride is smooth. The features are excellent. I love the dual function heated seats and the in- dash 6 CD changer with XM radio. The sound system is incredible. Everybody that sees this SUV loves it. I get compliments on it all the time. I am planning on getting another one when this lease expires. I highly recommend it!!!

Rainier Rules! - 2004 Buick Rainier
By NancyW - September 1 - 2:00 amEverything from the buying process to the trips and commuting I do in my Rainier has been a pleasure. The car itself is beautiful - a dark green with lots of chrome highlights. Everything is automatic, from the seat positions to lights turning on. It rides smoothly and quietly, but without that floating feeling that can make luxury cars less handleable. Weve already had to call on the services of OnStar when the family was locked out of the car while on vacation - they came through with flying colors and got us back in the car within five minutes.

Better than Cadillac - 2004 Buick Rainier
By Col. John Paul - August 29 - 2:00 amI traded in a 2003 Cadillac Deville for the 2004 Rainier V8, the ride is quieter, smoother, and the only thing I miss is the mileage per gallon.

Rainier a good choice - 2004 Buick Rainier
By MHBACH - July 23 - 2:00 amI test drove the other intermediate sized SUVs Trailblazer, Envoy, and found the Rainier the smoothest and best buy of the three. Most comfort and comfort features.

Buick Value - 2004 Buick Rainier
By Wdyer - July 16 - 2:00 amOverall this is a great value with the current rebates. Surprised about a few things though. No hydraulic lift for the hood? Even Rendexvous has this. Too much plastic. Faux wood. Unexciting instrument panel. Poor range of low beam headlights. WOW! What a quiet vehicle and great ride!

By alm - July 14 - 2:00 amCompared to the GM lineup, the Buick has more elegant feel. It is very quiet and acceleration is smooth.

A Great Little SUV. - 2004 Buick Rainier
By Dr Tom D - July 11 - 2:00 amFun SUV to drive Small footprint, extremly quick and agile with the V-8. Quiet and easy to drive on rough and smooth surface. Psycologicly it "fits".The valets fight to drive it. It even pulls an 18 foot Four Winns Boat or a trailer full of trash. It Gets you up out of the water. Now thats important when you live in Texas. Recently weve had Gully washers at least once a week.
