This Year's Model Updates:

BMW now offers a DVD-based navigation system for the 2003 BMW M5 -- but alas, you still can't get an in-dash CD player. Besides that, rear head protection airbags (optional last year) are now standard across the line. This is the last year for the current 5 Series -- the M5 being the higher-performance relative of the 540i -- as it will get a full redesign for the 2004 model year. If recent history holds, the M5 is likely to go on hiatus for a couple of years before returning to the welcoming arms and wallets of wealthy enthusiasts. And rumor has it that it will be coming back with a V10 under the hood.

Pros:
  • Incredible drivetrain, superb brakes, world-class suspension, attractive and luxurious interior, understated appearance.
Cons:
  • High price tag, small gauges, demanding manual transmission.

If youve never owned a high-end high performance car before, the M5 with its knock-your-socks-off power and vast, comfortable interior will far exceed your expectations. If you have owned high performance supercars, this is your daily driver.

The M5 is a perfect balance between the family sedan (fits our two car seats nicely. Superior safety feature) and a Winston Cup car. This car is overflowing with luxury. The sound system rocks (except you cant add satellite radio with DSP). The navigation is great. Most of all this car flat our hauls you know what, and holds the road like glue! Forget about buying a Porsche and a family car. This car has it all!

  • Cant be beat - 2003 BMW M5

All my life I dreamed of a car that was so perfect. The drivetrain is outstading, braking is phonomenal, and build quality is very impressive. I drive the m5 alot through towns and on highways and it is always a pleasure. The gas miliage is not very good, but it is all made up for. The sterio system is very high quality and all interior materials have a nice feel to them. This is a luxary car that drives like a smooth, slick race car. In the world of sports sedans it cant be beat.

It is the best car that I have ever driven. If you want to feel that you are really driving a car that’s mean you have to drive it otherwise I’m not sure that you are driving. It gathers both sporty and family car. This car is truly impressed me.

  • Great car!!! - 2003 BMW M5

I love the car, but actually prefer my CLK 500 more. The CLK 500 feels better in tight cornering. The BMW is faster!!!
