Overview & Reviews
The 5 Series has been completely redesigned for 2004. Along with a new V8 and the iDrive vehicle management system, buyers can expect even greater handling from this premier midsize sedan than before.
- Available V8 power, handles more like a sports car than a sedan, luxurious yet sporty cabin.

I chose right! - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By CarlB - August 10 - 10:00 amResearched three luxury cars over a couple months. The Mercededs E320 and Audi A6 couldnt compare to the comfort, luxury, power and handling of the BMW 525 with active steering. Much more spacious than the others, including the gigantic trunk. It has so much power I have to check the speedometer constantly. Great sleek design inside and out, love the headlight styling, bi-xenon is terrific and interior features cant be beat. Not enough space to describe the looks and positive comments this car gets on the road and even when parked! I definitely made the right choice!

Even Better Than Its Predecessor - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By Padre J - August 4 - 10:00 amThis is my 3rd BMW and my favorite to date. After I drove the first one, I was hooked. My last 5-Series was a wonderful car, and I like the 2004 even more. The increased passenger room and storage in the cabin are welcome. Although a bit of a challenge at first, the i-drive isnt really that hard to learn. The Sports Suspension and Active Steering are terrific. People constantly approach me and want to talk about the car.

Fun to Drive - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By Randy N - May 11 - 10:00 amI traded in my 7 series (also currently have a 528 and a X-5)for the new new 525. It does have considerable more room than old 5s and I really like the new design. I chose the smaller engine because of the $5,000 upcharge and do not really miss the extra horses. I have been getting over 37 mpg on the 2 long road trips to date (much higher than expected)and around 23 around town. The bottom line is it is very comfortable, has great lines and is fun to drive.

Great drive and ride - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By Micahel - April 10 - 2:00 amCar is greatly improved from my previous 2000 528i. Handles and ride is one of the best Ive driven, the design is nice but there are too many controls around the steering column

Great Car - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By JoeJack97 - April 10 - 2:00 amI had a 2003 Mercedes Benz E320, but no contest, this is a far superior car in every sense. Looks, performance and how it drives.

A Drivers - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By w. solomon - January 7 - 2:00 amWow, the experience of the BMW 530i goes up right off the charts after a short familiarization. Terrific comfort, strong linear acceleration, solid stability control and ergonomic pleasure highlight the advancements of the 5 Series. The areas of complaint - turn signaling and IDrive - are unfounded after one days ownership. Pure pleasure on a short trip to the market or a long trip to visit friends, on superhighway or winding back roads.

2004 BMW 530ia - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By joe91 - January 3 - 10:00 amFor 2004 BMW has again produced an excellent, top-of-the-line sport sedan, whic I consider the best on the market. After over 6 months of test driving numerous BMW configurations, as well as competive lines, I again bought a bimmer. So far, I like everything about it (including iDrive and exterior design)!
