All 3.0 and 2.7T models get standard leather upholstery. In addition, the 2.7T now comes standard with a firmer sport-tuned suspension and 17-inch wheels and 235/45 high-performance tires (these items were previously available in the sport package). All models can be equipped with a cold weather package that includes front and rear seat heaters (front seats only in 3.0 models); a ski sack; and on the 4.2 sedan only, a heated steering wheel.

Pros:
  • Heavenly cabin furnishings, varied menu of engines, all-wheel-drive utility.
Cons:
  • Nonlinear steering, limited availability of manual transmission.

  • A6 4.2 Perfect Driving Car - 2003 Audi A6

One of the best cars I have ever owned and a great fun car to drive. There are three in extended family, and we love them!

Ive had this car for about 3 weeks and I have nothing but great things to say about it. I have the black on black one with 17" BBS rims and it looks amazing. The drive itself is amazing. If it is driven lightly then it is very well mannered and handles the road beautifully and very smoothly. However, if you begin to push harder the car responds like you wouldnt believe. The steering tightens up, turbos begin to push, and it turns into a low flying jet! This car simply rockets when asked to do so! Perfect balance between luxury and sport. Plus the Quattro is awesome in bad wether.

This is our second A6. Our first was dead reliable but was sluggish. The more powerful engine with the CVT transmision is a vast improvement over the Tiptronic in our old A6. Gas mileage is much improved too. The car has wonderful build quality, is roomy for passengers and luggage, fun to drive and is significanly cheaper than comparible BMWs and Mercedess

  • Great Car but tire choice critical - 2003 Audi A6
    By -

Driving an A-6 4.2 is a great experience. The car is fast, handles well and is an all-around first class sedan. But for those of us living in the snow belt, the choice of tires can be critical. The 17" Perellis have been trouble. I have experiences three damaged tires and two bent rims in the last couple of years. The lower profile, 17" 235-45 tires simply do not offer much cushion against road hazards. Even the Audi website (in the fine print) suggests that "sport" tires require a special decision. Ill probably buy another Audi - its a great car - but my choice of tires will be different.

Great combination of performance and luxury. Looks great on the exterior and has a first class interior.

THis is my first Audi. I have been very pleased with the fit and finish of the car as well as the understated elegance and style. I have received many compliments. Most people are amazed that they havent seen more of them especially considering the price difference between this auto and a BMW 5 series.

  • WOW - 2003 Audi A6

I looked at quite a few mid-level lux cars and this had them all beat. I dont live where the additional cost of quattro is necessary, so I chose the 3.0 CVT. This is almost as smoothe as my electric car I had to give back to the mfg. I love it!

  • A6 2.7 turbo - 2003 Audi A6

This is the second A6 that I have purchased, (the first being a 98 A6 2.8 tiptronic). Being an architect, the design brought me in, and then the quality and attention to detail made me hang around. The difference in the power and thrust in the 2.7t from the previous 2.8 is astounding: even faster than my 2001 TT roadster 225. Having the available 6-speed manual has made my A6 ever so much more fun to drive. As good as the Tiptronic was, it is just no match for a manual.
