Overview & Reviews
For 2003, all TL models equipped with the navigation system receive OnStar as standard equipment.
- Excellent value, comfortable front seats, impressive power from the Type-S engine, long list of standard equipment.
- Average interior materials, lacks the panache of some competing luxury sedans.

Stay away from the TL Type S - 2003 Acura TL
By phatgroove - June 8 - 10:00 amI would not buy again or recommend buying the 2003 TL Type S. It is a piece of junk. Ive had the car for one year and needed to have the sunroof resealed (leaking), the brakes and rotors went twice (first time after 5 months - resurfaced - 3K miles, second time - completely replaced - 12500K.). These are just some of the major issues Ive had with the car. Initial quality was great, but wait two months and the car will start to rattle and squeak.

Cannot beat this baby for the price - 2003 Acura TL
By Paradox - May 21 - 10:00 amGreat car for the money and I got it for 2,000 off sticker. Much better deal than the 300M Special i was considering. Cheaper and has navigation which chrysler doesnt even offer. Plus you get Japanese reliability compared to American junk!

"Superb Machine" - 2003 Acura TL
By bleamoney - May 14 - 10:00 amI have owned 3 other Acuras and I have loved them all equally. Of course some had features that others lacked but over all I was satisfied with them. Acura knows how to build a quality vehicle.

Comfy - 2003 Acura TL
By jfbrown42 - May 6 - 11:44 amI was looking for a sporty family car, something better than the Mazda 626 ES my wife was driving - bigger, sportier, better gas mileage. We looked at a 2003 TL Type-S and the 2004 models. The 2004s were more edgy looking, had more horspower, and had more tech (bluetooth) but my wife didnt feel that they would go when she stepped on the gas pedal. Also, the 2004 felt smaller on the inside and had a smaller trunk. The trunk is important because we have two little kids. Wed like to be able to go on vacation and not have to rent an SUV for the luggage. I dont really push this car, but it performs well enough and is quite comfortable.

Way Better than my Cadillacs!! - 2003 Acura TL
By koolkat57 - April 16 - 10:00 amWe had been driving Cadillacs for a while, and had become disgusted with the typical GM assembly quality and reliability. You just couldnt afford them after the warranty ran out!!! We LOVE our 2003 TL type S!! Its eveything we were looking for and MORE. Quiet, Comfortable, And lots of fun to Drive! The gas mileage is also much better than we expected, almost 35 mpg on the highway!!

Good but not great - 2003 Acura TL
By Andy - April 10 - 8:15 amOverall I have been very happy w/ my 03 TL-S. Pros: fun to drive, styling, handling is good. Con: no auto lights, vehicle information display is limited (no mpg, mile remaining, oil life, etc), wiper spray doesnt work below freezing, no dual zone heating/cooling. I had some transmission problems early on, two wheel bolts sheared while driving, and the steering wheel stereo controls quit working about at about 80k. I have always thought I would have been happier with the Infinity G35, which will be my next car most likely.

Quality and Performance - 2003 Acura TL
By Chris Boyd - April 7 - 10:00 amBought December/01. Love this car. Drive it every day to get to work and look forward to my commute. A blast to push up to double the speed limit and I love the passing power on two lane roads. I was going to buy an MDX and Im glad I didnt!
