Overview & Reviews
This year the MDX receives standard XM Satellite Radio, a Bluetooth hands-free cell phone interface on Touring models, a larger fuel tank and an enhanced stability control system. The optional rear entertainment system now includes an in-dash six-disc CD changer, and the navigation system has an enhanced database. MDXs with navigation also include the OnStar communications system.
- Room for seven passengers or serious amounts of cargo, gutsy V6 engine, well-balanced suspension, top-rated crash test scores.
- Limited off-road capability, below-average tow rating, ho-hum interior design and materials.

7 passengers and no sweat !!! - 2005 Acura MDX
By united_airline - March 8 - 2:43 amI was very impressed with my 04 Acura MDX touring, navi. I had 7 adults and this baby climbs hill like I was sitting alone by myself. I dont have to add additional gas. I did not hear the engine make any noises when going up hill. It is truly remarkable.

Fun car, but... - 2005 Acura MDX
By Jimbo - February 24 - 3:30 pmVery smooth ride in comparison to my two prior Ford Explorers. Enjoy the nav system however still learning commands and touch screen can be hard to not make mistakes. A heating problem has developed in our car, and the same issue with a neighbor who has the same car. The local dealer is stumped. Not a good feature in the winter. Other than this the car is great.

Great Car - 2005 Acura MDX
By Brocktune - January 1 - 5:38 pmBought this car new in March 05 and have loved every minute of it. My only regret was not talking the wife into getting the Navi. Test drove all the competitors, but the MDX blew them all away. I love the car-like handling. The bluetooth can have trouble picking up my voice when the air or heater is on. It has led to some frustrating exchange (me--"dial 911" MDX--"now calling 753." Also, there is a sloshing sound from the gas tank. I took it back to the dealier shortly after purchase, but there was nothing they could do about it. Eventually, I just got used to it, and I no longer notice it.

Borrow some minivan features - 2005 Acura MDX
By Ed - December 7 - 5:26 pmNot bad for driver, but third row passengers are very limited. Need more leg room and easy to get in/off. How about power sliding rear doors instead of traditional wings and power lift gate would be a good features to borrow from minivans. Automatic doors locking feature at the speed greater than 20 mph.

Very satisfied with our choice - 2005 Acura MDX
By JDog - October 8 - 4:40 amWe looked at the usual suspects in this category. Ultimately, we went with the MDX as the best overall combination of drive quality, convenience and comfort - its a great car.

Performance and comfort - 2005 Acura MDX
By Mary Ann Moss - September 18 - 11:03 amI find the ride of the mdx to be smooth and comfortable. Interior is roomy and stylish with extras that I expect out of a luxury suv. gas mileage is usually 20 to 21 miles per gallon for me. That is good for this size vehicle. its not hard to get in and out of (not to high, not to low). If Acura wants any suggtions, the only thing is, I feel like for the price they should have added more wood grain to interior, such as the steering wheel and control panel. This should have been standard the the touring package.

Solid overall, room for improvement - 2005 Acura MDX
By txguy - September 4 - 1:38 amGot it with the nav and RES options. The RES is a must if you have kids. Ride is still smooth after 2 years and 35K miles. Averaged 24.8 MPG at steady 70 mph on last freeway trip with wife, 2 kids and cargo. Still love the MDX and weve had zero issues with the car. I use the Bluetooth often to talk hands-free and the Bose stereo sounds great. Only things I should have gotten up front were a cargo net for the back and running boards to help boost the little kids (under 4) and great-grandma.

A great all-purpose SUV - 2005 Acura MDX
By JCPHX - July 25 - 8:59 pmExtremely comfortable, quiet ride with excellent performance. I purchased with all the bells and whistles, including DVD with rear speaker control - perfect for long trips with kids. Also, with two rows of seats that fold down, easily converts to a good SUV for hauling stuff. Bluetooth for the mobile phone is now a must-have. The voice-activated nav system seemed cool at first, but it was the one thing that didnt always perform perfectly. Still, this is my first Acura and the best vehicle I have ever owned.
