  • Clutch problem - 2003 Acura CL
    By -

This car was a great car for 30,000 miles, until the clutch went out. I babied this car. I had no warning of a clutch failure, no slippage at all. Riding on a flat raod and went to shift and the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. Thats all she wrote. cloast me $800+. Have had lots of manual shifts and this was a first for me. Also have had trouble with the home link.

  • 2003 CL Type S 6-Speed Stick Red/Tan - 2003 Acura CL

I bought this car for its high reliability (per Consumer Reports), safety (assuming same www.iihs.org crash worthiness as Honda Acord), performance (270 HP, clutch with very narrow sweet spot and 6-speed gear ratios), fun (VTEC sound/growl), styling (classic), winter traction (front wheel drive) and value (under $30k).

I know I didnt buy a civic but, daggggg the gas mileage sucks!!! I swear that when I get on it I see the gauge move and that wouldnt be so bad if it took reg. gas. But other than that know problems!

  • A Sleeper - 2003 Acura CL

Car was delivered in perfect condition. Finish and mechanicals all done well! Comfortable to drive, quiet, excellent sound system, handles well. Big trunk. 3.2 (not Type S) is a little shy on mid-range torque for spirited highway driving but is fine for touring and accepts 89 octaine witrh no complaints.

  • Its a blast to drive - 2003 Acura CL

The six speed manual is a dream to drive, it was definitly worth the wait. The short throw shifter is smooth and quick. The engine is very strong, Im just at 250 miles on the engine so Im still taking it easy but sometimes you just cant resist planting your foot and getting thrown back into your seat!

The CL 6-speed is a great choice for those that want a manual, while keeping their spouses in luxury. The conservative exterior will help this car go unnoticed. This will come in handy considering its performance. The perforated leather is comfy. The interior is tasteful and beautifully crafted. The dash is clean with large easy to read gauges. Controls are well placed. The gear throws are short & precise, but the clutch grabs a bit too quickly. The engine winds forever yet has the torque to minimize shifting. Ride is taut, not stiff. Goes exactly where pointed but not on rails. HLSD does an excellent eliminating torque steer while adding to the traction benefits of FWD.

  • Slightly disappointed - 2003 Acura CL

I really like my car especially the performance from the engine. Faster then everything but a vette. Its like a wolf in sheeps clothes. HOWEVER, I only have 13,000 miles and I am on my 2nd transmission! What is that? This new one is starting to act up too. It jerks at 40 and 60mph. There is a little too much wind noise for $30+ car.

  • I LOVE MY CAR!!!!! - 2003 Acura CL

I love my car. I cant understand why Acura would discontinue this model. Shame.

  • AWESOME! buy it! - 2003 Acura CL

Excellent car! I upgraded to wider and bigger tires and now it drives on rails! Get the Type-S! Thats my only complain!

  • Great Car! - 2003 Acura CL

Great Car! Awesome to drive! But what were they thinking by putting a cupholder right behind the manual shifter, stupid.
